i have currently 10 w 40 oil is that what we should be running in these cars or should it be 10 w 30? i just want to make sure i was told it should be 10 w 40 but i just want to make sure... (burnout)

ya i just wasnt sure because, i live in toronto and it can get cold in the winters you kno.. that should be good year round.. thanks.

wats the temp up there now? my relatives live in north bay if you kno were that is. but on your next oil change i would go with a 5w.

ya man north bay is more north from where i am lol.. its prolly colder there the temp here now is about 10 deg C during the day and about 5 deg C at night so its gettin to the freezing temp soon.. but go with a 5w for the winter time k

yah def wanna go with a 5w in the winter it wont taks as long to warm up and it will start alot easier b/c its thinner.

10w30 is general but if your in colder place or for colder temps you can go with a bit thinner oil to help worm engine up faster and oil picks up better.

usually colder temps use 5w30 or 0w40 or 5w40 oil

From MTL, iv got the Royal Purple in there right now. Comeing up on an Oil Change soon and i will prolly look for some 5w30. I dont think RP makes a 5W but i could be wrong. Om going to stick with synthetic tho, for sure.

We sell royal purple 5w30 at work so I'm sure they make it. I'm pissed that we don't have the 10w30. Back on topic, I run mobil1 10w30 year round. Thinking about switching to 0w40.

yah take a look at some 0w. it looks like water. at least use a 5w or 10w year round and when its hot step up to a 20w

should we run 10w30 in the summer???? (huh)
i always use 5w30 Royal Purple. Now that u mention 10w30 for warmer temps i prob should do that next summer.

I'm using M1 fully synth 0w40 , it does have more zinc then 5w30/10w30 .
Zinc is necessary for engines bearing and such.

summer needs a bit heavy oil so it won't burn it , so 10w30 is perfect for summer.

If you guys use true synthetic like RedLine then running RedLine 5w30 all year around is perfect/good.
