Twiggy Sticks Install, tuning and results thread

what are the oil plugs? i bought some twiggy cams and i am waiting to get these from joka1, and i was wondering if i could get them elsewhere.
 
joka sold his cams.....

he was gonna send me a the oil plugs he was getting from someone in australia...but thats not really the point, is there any where else i can get them from? and what are they?

the plugs have been sent, and lost in the mail, TWICE now (once via express postage, the other by normal air mail)... i'm trying to find some more (being right ontop of the holiday season its a bit of a pain, given that the postal service and the cam place are on holidays.....)

no idea why they are getting stopped/lost... i haven't received any return to senders or anything so they are going to the right address....

on another note, why did joka sell his cams?
 
That would be too broad of an assumption for me to make without knowing the shop's level of experience.
 
so a good shop would though? and i just wanna know if i have to get them from joka or can i get the ones i need else where (like aare they custom of what?)?
 
they are not "custom" plugs... they are just a certain size... (don't have any on me, trying to track some down for you - but you'll need to wait until after xmas it seems - i've got the guy who made them's home phone number and i'm trying to get in touch with him today to see if he's near the shop at all in the next day or so so i can pick some up...)

they are just a welch plug/freeze plug but the size is going to be important...

they go in the end of the main oil line on the cams.... so that oil pressure builds in the cams to lubricate the journals.

oil is pumped into one side of the cams (the gearbox side) and are stopped at the belt side by the plugs - pressure in the main line rises and oil is pushed out of tiny (and i mean TINY) holes on the journals, which lubricate the cams as they rotate...oils is then returned via one of the oil return lines in the head (you can see them when you get your cam cover off).

without the plugs, the cams wouldn't lubricate properly, you'd probably fill the whole cam cover with oil and make a big mess, as well as break things.

Joka has pm'd me regarding the plugs - it would seem that my previous 2 attempts to ship them to him have failed (i have NO IDEA why.... they are just brass plugs ffs!) - and i'm trying to get them for him. I thought they were for his build, which is slowly progressing, but it would seem the urgency is more about the fact that he's sold his cams...

I'll ship any new plugs i get to him directly as originally agreed and he can onforward them to you.

time frame....no idea...still trying to ring the cam guy (who is probably ignoring me given that its christmas eve.)

23,000 miles on my twiggy stix and they're still running strong. It's been awhile since I've checked in due to work being rough, so I thought that I'd put a voucher in for the durability that I've seen thus far. Automatic stock ECU has adjusted and I no longer get any loping idle that was common early on with the stock ECU. I hope everybody is enjoying theirs as much as I'm enjoying mine!

was there a before and after dyno done with these?

Don't think so yet.
I am in the same position with mine as others were.
My twiggy stix are to be installed at the same time as a number of other mods.
I do plan to do a dyno after, but it will not show gains from only the cams.
I have had a shop setup my cams and do head work.
Pulleys set, 626 IM, etc will all be installed since previous dyno.
Plus I have a AEM piggyback to tune on the dyno and street
