Hey I know this has been posted about before but is anyone still planning on going to this show or not? I am also still trying to get more info on this show. For example How many cars actually show up to the show? Is it worth it to come from Philly, Pa or not? Well post back if you plan on going to the show.

Tweeter of Columbia is holding the anual S.L.A.P (sound looks and Performance) show on July 11 in Columbia MD 6455 Dobbin Rd. 410-997-8338

registration is 9am-noon
judging starts at noon
catagories are as follows
SLAP show and shine - Looks
SLAP DB - BASS !!!
SLAP DBQ - Over all quality of sound bass and install
fee $30 entry fee per competition. cash only. if you enter 2 compitions its $50 and all 3 its $70

it varies on the weather and all but there have been as few as 30 cars up to 100

i think MEC is going to roll in with like 5 cars hopefully more will show up to support and chill

I've never done one of these before, how do the db tests work? Do they operate your stereo or do you? Do you have to play a certain CD? (uhm)

for the db you sit in your car with earphones they give you they put a mic in there and you play whatever cd you want as loud as you want for like 30 sec and they take the highest you go.
for sq they have a cd they use and they sit in your car and listen to the cds and judge you on the quality.

no but you can get one at radioshack for cheap

one thing I was wondering... does your dB peak have to be bass alone? because from what I remember from HS physics, it would be easier to achieve a high dB using loud treble (lower frequencies are easier for us to hear... with 2 varying frequencies of comparable percieved loudness, the one of higher frequency will be higher dB)

you can do either low or high but its easier to do lows it seems

Well my car is in the shop, and I dunno if it will be ready for sunday or not. Cross your fingers. I'm hoping to get it back on Friday so that I can detail it on Saturday. If not, I will at least try to make it to support you guys somehow.

I'm getting the system tweeked and the install finished enuff for competition purposes (everything nicely carpeted and all), and making sure everything is functioning properly. I keep losing power to one of my amps which basically makes my fronts go dead for awhile, and you know how much I like my fronts. It would sux if that happened on Sunday.

I will try to make it to tint day and wash the car with everyone else. We have to cement our basement on Saturday, and I don't know how long that is going to take or how I'm going to feel afterwards.
