Turn the boost up?

That's why you take the opposite approach and tune it for SAFETY... not to make MORE power. I truely believe that I would blow mine in a second if I went out right now and leaned out the fuel to about 12:1 and gave back some timing.

Don't get me wrong, conservative tuning won't make it indestructable, but it will allow you to run a lot more power than if you were to run an aggresive tune with lower boost.

As always, just my .02
So if 12:1 is lean, then what is yours tuned to?

I ran at 10 psi with FMIC,DP,exhaust,intake,fcd,colderplugs for 40,000 miles,and never poped my motor,and when I finaly pull it apart,the pistons and rods were in great shape.
and I drove the s*** oout of the car.

goes to show, the stock FS-DE motor is very unpredictable,boost at your own risk.

well the one rod bent far enough that on the bottom of the stroke the bottom of the piston got in a arguement with the crankshaft and lost. The piston was cut in half along with the wrist pin (length wise).

Not saying that is lean.... but I have mine tuned a lot safer than that. Mine dips to 10 at the max tq point and then it comes up to 11 now, and that is what I consider to be a more aggresive tune for me. This is what I consider to be truely safe (when I did my last dyno pull):

I have deciced to run 9 psi with : FMIC , Injen CAI , full exhaust , and cold plugs. Then next mod will be dp and FCD. i will keep everyone posted what happens (ugh)

make sure you ask yourself the most important queston;
if the motor does pop,will you be physicaly,and financialy able to repair it?

that's what credit is for. (first)

if your confident enough to say that "thats what credit is for",then save yourself the expense,and headaches,go forged now.

(werd) ...... But remember, s*** can happen even if your forged. Always have backup plans for backup plans. And if this is your only car, leave it stock.

dang guys. alright alright .i have been thinking and thinking im going to run stock boost for a while on what i have. An maybe and "maybe" being the key word will turn the boost up. So no uppin the boost (for now) (hand)
