Turkey almost dead............

T in to the brake booster line. Since it is a larger diameter hose and connects directly to the intake manifold via a larger outlet, it is a very good strong vacuum source.

Here's a picture LinuxRacr posted a while back (from the Flyin' Protege Turbo Kit intallation manual):

Hope this helps.

Ok, to explain, that line is very easy to find. It's kinda fat. The only way you are not gonna find it is if you are not looking for it.;) Look at the 2nd picture, and look where the line goes into the brake cylinder attached to the firewall. Follow the line out away from the cylinder, feeling it for the check valve that is in the line. The check valve is a hard plastic piece put into the line to ensure that pressure goes one way. Cut to the LEFT of the check valve, or all your boost signal will be blocked. Look at the red arrows. That metal fitting you see is a piece added in to source up to 3 signals.

I did not under stand a bit of that s*** and the pic's suck. aint ther a vacum line diagram some where o the car , most other do. I will look for mine.

There's a vacuum line diagram on the underside of the hood.

Anyone know where that metal fitting can be found? If not what tee off would work with a line that big?

I think I saw one at Home Depot tonight. didn't get it 'cause i wasn't sure of the size. Next time.

I put a Turbosmart Dual port in as well to replace the stock BPV and no dice. I wasn't running a dedicated vacuum source though so I'll try again with that. I think the spring's too tight as well - anyone know where lighter springs can be found?

Home Depot. In the plumbing section they have all sorts of brass tee's - I'm pretty sure there was one that looked the right size to go from the brake booster to an oversized vacuum hose. You might have to downsize the vacuum hose right at the BOV though. That's my plan for tomorrow night. Hopefully my eyeballs are accurate.

I'm actually in the process of desigining a plastic "clamp" that will attach right to the plastic IC -> IM pipe for a secondary BOV the way that the hardpipe guys are doing it with their welded flanges. I'll post pics and how-to if it's successful. Prob after Christmas though.

pulling random vacuum lines is a great idea.
Im sure theyre not needed.

And yes, on the hood of the car there is a vac line diagram

We're not talking about pulling random vacuum lines. We're talking about teeing into an existing high quality line that won't be impacted by a tee. Sure there is a tiny bit more air in the line, which means that there will be a milisecond more delay in creating vacuum in the brake booster while the vacuum to the BOV is also created. I'm not worried about a milisecond. There will be no actual pressure drop in the lines as it is essentially a closed system with a vacuum (or pump if in boost) on one end.

As for the diagram, it's a great schematic with a bunch of straight lines. But so what? Knowing what to actually look for (i.e. what the brake booster looks like and where it's located) for someone who's not a mechanic is where clear pictures, and a solid description comes in. KyRaceFan, in my fantasy world, we're all here to offer assistance in areas we know and ask questions in areas we don't. I'd hope that we're not here just to repeat someone else's comment pointing to a mostly useless schmatic and offer other useless comments.

I know where to place it I'm just interested as to where one can find a signal source like the one in the pic. I went to home depot today no luck.

I've emailed the Flyin Protege people asking about getting one. I'll let you know what they say. Probably not until after Christmas tho.

so, has anyone actually t-eed off of the brake booster line to the BPV and gotten rid of turkey?
with our stock BPV i mean.

No, discreet tried that brake booster line in one of our many attempts to get rid of it. He told me that it didn't work by itself. I gave the BPV a direct source from the manifold and it still didn't work.

hey i did this but i made a mistake, there is a check valve in the hose between the manifold and the brake booster, i was unaware of it and i put it(haha get this) like 1"past the check valve.....if anyone is going to do this you have to put it before the check valve. so you must put it on the intake manifold side.....i am not sure if this will work though.
i already have the set up that 505ZOOM has and im happy with it so whos up to try it?

discreet, can u describe yours and 505's setup in a few words?
i just dont feel like searching through the forums right now,
and i'm pretty sure it would be beneficial for others watching this thread.

thanks :D

Flyin Protege signal source

The piece mentioned earlier with 3 connections they are selling for $24.95.

I'm getting one!
