Turboxs BOV installed--Pics inside!

Technically speaking, BOV vents and BPV recircs. It's just symantics. People (myself included) tend to refer to both BOVs and BPVs as "BOVs". Some people refer to BPVs as DVs as well (diverter valves).

So what do you call a BOV that recircs just curious on how your symantics apply to this item?

If it recirculates then its considered a diverter valve. Its only called a BOV if it vents to the atmosphere which is technically stupid on a MAF car since that is metered air. Now, on Hondas since they use a 3bar MAP sensor it makes sense to run a VTA BOV.

Furthermore, If you are talking to an Audi or VW owner running the new 2.0T motor and you mention BOV they will laugh at you. It seems most engines that are going with direct injection are only running MAF currently, even in turbo charge applications.

These are the guys that work on my gf's 2007 2.0T Audi S4

They can laugh all they want when they are in my rear view mirror. Sorry to say but a BOV is a BOV whether it recircs or vta. A BPV is a BPV and thats that. Don't get it all confused and besides, wtf do I care about german cars and what they think.

Agree with 007. Back in the early days, a blow off valve was a blow off valve whether it was recirculated or not. Lots of folks, me included, just got used to saying "blow off valve." This is the same as when folks would say they had "NOS" ... now the youngin's say "NOS" is a company not Nitrous. Well again, back in the early days NOS was the only company for a time that had Nitrous kits, so people got used to just saying NOS. Its just playing with words and the topics are beat to death in all forums.

all blow off valves do the same thing..no blow off valve out performs the other only difference in apperance and sound which is all customer preference...i bought hks because..well its HKS

So, let me try to understand. You spent good money and time to make your car run worse, get worse gas milage, shorten the life of your catalyst, and sound funny.
Nope, I don't get it. Maybe I am just too old to understand.

Why don't you make a cd from the sound track of F&F and just play that while you are driving?

umm.if you guys are'nt trying to offend anyone, then i'd advise you not be so rude in the first place. easy said, easy done.

When I bought my Golf 1.8T, it had a blow off valve. It was a MAF set up and threw codes and CELs. When I was remapped using GIAC software they attempted to dyno tune the car. The gentleman who was tuning the car told me to scrap the BOV because turbo charged cars running MAFs need to use diverters. I replaced my BOV with a diverter, reran the diverter line and guess what? No more CEL, no more wonky engine performance after shifts, and the car ran a lot better.
YMMV
