Turbohoses Shortram Intake

Turbohoses said:
Almost every intake we've tested makes about 4-6whp, all of them, including ours. However, spool time is a different issue and that's where the difference is. Also, say goodbye to the "turkey".... (rockon)

So you're saying the turkey isn't compressor surge? it's just a sound that is resonating in the pipes and out the intake?

mmm, cuz if it is compressor surge like everyone had been saying, you need to modify the pipe to the TB to prevent it right?

The Turkey sound is most definitely not a sound in the intake track resonating. Our intake takes in A LOT of air due to the airram we use. We also smoothed out the bends to the compressor housing.
More air to a turbo can equate to more boost and/or the turbo doing the same but more effeceintly.
The back pressure you receive from a restrictive intake is part of the problem in this case.

bump for an update. anybody buy this yet?

turbohoses: also, can you explain why you claim your intake kills the turkey?

I have one on order.

I seen all these "debates" about the turkey but all is seems like to me is the sound of the air being violently spit back into the intake pipe through the BPV.
Either way this intake looks nice but man it is pricey. I got my Injen with an AEM filter for 135.00$ used of course but hey it works just fine. :)

i do agree that the price is a little steep, maybe you guys could offer a group buy right off the bat with a significantly reduced price? i'm sure you'd sell a ton of these things... personally i'd be very interested, this is one of the first SRI's i've seen with a velocity stack type design, and it is rather intriguing, i'd like to get one but unfortunatly dont have the money :(...

also i love the turkey, the look on peoples face is priceless, they just can't figure out what it is :p, and its so much cooler than a loud psssssssssh...

I had a feeling you would! hahah... good stuff. you will have to post pics and sound clips after! you'll probably be one of the first to have one. :)

Yeah...I'll post some pics. I don't have a video camera for sound, but maybe I can get someone to lend me one around here when I get it.

Mmmm... For those of you looking for air quality, I think this is the best option. =) For those of you looking for air quantity, well, it's still a pretty good option, but pricey, for you!

Personally, being an N/A freak, I need laminar flow, and for that matter, the velocity that it carries! Don't ignore the ever important velocity stack at the end. =) I think it's well worth it. And remember, bending tubes is cheap; Making velocity stacks isn't.

Thanks for helping out here.
You can have a job with us anytime!!!

The technology behind the velocity stack and filter is what seperates this intake from anything on the market. They normally retail with filter for almost 165.00 alone.

We began shipping out the intakes today and they look absolutely amazing!!!
We discounted the intakes 25.00 and gave special discounts for anyone that could show us "their" receipts for our SMIC and IC pipes.

This will give you a basic idea of what it looks like.
The brackets, extra hoses and clamps are included.

What about people who already have the air ram how much will the piping alone cost?

You'll need more than just the piping to make it work.
We will include the piping, hoses, clamps, mounting brackets for 240.00.

Will it fit on stock IC and stock piping?
I would like to start by buying this and then SMIC and piping.

beautiful ... i may be a true converter and switch to this badboy. it would match my turbohoses pipes and smic perfectly. you should offer a further discount to people that are trading an injen/aem for this thing! lol.

do you have a pic of it installed?
