Street unit i see you are running the dual BPV/Type-S setup. What i cant tell is where you have the BPV run to? I see there is a nipple on the top IC pipe and i can see the BPV running off that, but where is it connecting on the other side?
It has to be running to the intake, otherwise it wouldn't be recirculating. He said he had his BOV venting to atmosphere and BPV recirculating I believe.

well based on that picture it looks like he has an injen which would mean that BPV hose would have to take a 90 degree turn around to get back into the injen?

I don't know that is kind of weird. I would think he would have to be running it to the intake, but it doesn't look like it does it?

Why do you have two threads about the same subject?
It was like 15 pages long, and originally about the hardpipes. This one is to see what new products they are coming out with.

Also, groupbuys need to be in the groupbuy section. Moved to MSP Marketplace.
This is not a group buy. The other thread was a GB, this thread is for TurboHoses product updates, merely informational. It is not marketplace material, can you put it back please?

t3ase, good to see you up and around man. So does your d*ck still work? Thats all that matters man ;) j/k so are you 100% yet?

Street Unit:

Why not just route a tube from the type-s to the intake? It will still make a PPPSSSST sound, but will act just like a BPV. That way you could just take the BPV out of the whole equation and have that nipple plugged.

It works, the wild turkey will be uncaged again though.

street unit- when I first brought the smic idea to hoover he said he would prbaly use a 4" spearco core.is he still going to do that?4"does fit we measured it on my car.

you do realize that there isn't going to be a big gain because of the angle the pipes go in, the fact that it's just an intercooler, and it's mostly covered by the front bumber.
It's more like a safty precaution just like the pipes are.
It would definetly respond with mods though.
I had a thead around here some were to feel around about how much people would want this smic and a lot of people were interested but thay all said the same thing,
"it gotta be a reasonable price".but I don't think they realize quality costs more.

any way I'll shut up now
I can't wait to see how it turns out.

oh and you still haven't answered me about the intake.

good luck with this

damn i didnt realize that the turkey would come back. Looks like im gonna have to tune my type-s once i get my pipes. I was gonna recirc it, because my pipes arent gonna have the bpv being utilized.

If you want to utilize the BPV just have them tig weld a nipple on the MAF to Turbo intake pipe and the IC to TB pipe (if aluminum pipes). I am using a regular protege SRI as my intake with a Tig welded nipple for the BPV and flange to hold it.

I agree with Wicked. The thing is, people aren't going to spend almost the same amount of money for a replacement SMIC and hardpipes when they can get a FMIC kit for a little more that works better.

But..., the fmic kit takes a few hours to swap out back to stock. The smic with hardpipes you can almost just unbolt and lift out, then throw the stock setup back in.

Lets clearify a few things...

First, who said a FMIC is better than a SMIC? and vice versa. An IC upgrade is usually a good thing, depending on the application. A FMIC may be better that a SMIC for one application and a SMIC will be better than the FMIC in a different application. Follow me? A FMIC will not benefit all turbo applications.

The deciding factor on whether we see a SMIC in production is the gains. If they aren't significant enough to compensate the price, the SMIC project will be given the AXE. I will not carry a product that is a waste of our hard earned money. People that know me, know that I don't mess around. As far as price goes, the cost to produce the unit will be keep to a minimum while maintaining the quality.

agreed.

I just would like to see another SMIC for those of us who have already invested in hard pipes. Granted i could always sell my hard pipes to someone....but I would rather have a SMIC, with welded endtanks. Even if it doesnt yeild substantial gains it will reduce pressure loss as well as cool the air better.

EDIT: and when most people say reasonable, i think they just mean less than circuit sports product. 450ish would probably sell a shitload of IC's.
