Turboed MP5's rule

Yay for turbo p5's. I got my swap done in a weekend. Big ups to TheMan for helping me with the millions of parts that go with the msp. I have a true swap. I changed my mbsp and have the msp oil return on the block. Very good learning experience all in all. I am not scared of cars because of that.

What are your readings usually? A/F ratio?
Well, from what I have read, it really depends on where you have it located. I have the protegegarage catless midpipe and mine is right after the j-pipe. I don't get an accurate reading until about 2500rpms. and when I let off the gas it says it doesn't even read(gives a "---") The only time I pay attention to it is when i am boosting. When I start boosting it reads about 10.9-11.3 and gradually rises as I give more boost topping out at around 12.9 at 6-7psi. If it jumps above 14.0 when I am boosting I just let off the gas a little, which usually means that I got a boost spike and the FPR can't allow enough fuel to go with the boost.

edited: I would seriously love to have an electric fuel pressure gauge. but I dont have the dough to lay down for it and I dont have anywhere for it either. maybe one day. Thinking of buying one of those two gauge dash bezels from mryellermp5 later in the year, and add the fuel pressure gauge along with a tranny temp gauge.

Well, I want to have matching gauges in the car. I am trying to stay with the Phantom Autometer series. and yes thats loads of cash

Dude it would be so awsome to see one of you auto guys hit like 250WHP. That would be a dangerous little street car to. Sleeper from hell.

by the time I would be able to do that the car would be 10-15 years old, but hey if its fast who cares.

Bah, my goals have gone down dramatically since learning more and more about these cars. I think back when I first bought the car and wanted to turbo it I wanted to get like 350 whp ((stoned) ) but now I'm just shooting for 225 whp with stock internals and I'll see where I go from there althogh going forged and shooting for 250-300 whp is still a silly little idea in the back of my head.

well i'm gonna jump on this band-wagon with my...uh.....wagon . i just came across a garrett turbo off a GST eclipse. no rebuild needed it's in perfect shape. got to come up with a few more goodies and my MP5 will be on the boost-wagon...so to speak. my only question is this-
can my existing ECU be used, or is a MSP ECU in order?
and is anybody running 12psi....safe? mine will be tunnd to run from 7psi-15psi. can't wait....*happy dance* (breakn)

u better be planning to get new internals and clutch to run those preasures... right??
