Whats up guys? I wanted to ask those of you that have the turbo XS hybrid valve how many washers your using? I started with none and that was letting off to early, then I went to one, and that was basically the same then two and it was better but still didnt seem right. I am currently using three right now and it seems to be the best so far. Has anyone used 4 or 5? Im assuming 5 is to much and I want to drive with three for awhile to really see how it reacts but over all its the same drivability, no stumbling, holds boost perfectly and sounds sweet. Im jut looking to see what you other guys are doing.

Hi,

I was running the recirc TurboXS valve and I was having similar issues, trying between 2-4 washers. On 2 washers I felt the car respond/accelerate/spool well but the valve wasnt holding max boost, with 3-4 washers sure it held boost better but the boost really lagged and the car felt rough. In the end I couldnt find a happy medium.

I actually bought the Forge valve and it is excellent! The car is really responsive/turbo spools up quickly and this valve holds boost perfectly there is a very noticeable improvement in top end pull. I'm not ranting on about it just to promote Forge, just on comparing the TurboXS, stock and Forge valves the Forge valve is the clear winner. The only possible downside on the Forge valve is the sound, kinda like a metallic whistle when you let it off hard, but I'm used to it now and its staying on! TurboXS valve is going on eBay soon, enough said!

I am in the same boat. I am on three washers and I feel that it performs well. It holds boost nicely but there is soome lag. Not as much as the stock DV but I feel it can be corrected. Forge is a great company. I actually had a forge valve on my msp with a hard pipe and loved the sound. The only reason why I got rid of it was because I put a FMIC on it and had a Greddy BOV with the MAF relocated. I will try four washers over the weekend. I love this Hybrid valve and dont feel its necssary to change it. I just want to find the right amount of washers to use.

I've been told by Turbo XS guy's to run 4 washers preload. Didnt tried yet... the car is at the dealer. Car accident :(

I am running two , don't have a boost gauge so hard to tell other than checking the idle quality , backfires or "feel" of the car.

Im gonna do 4 washers today and will let you guys how it is. Three is very good. Two is not enough. It didnt hold boost through the entire RPM range it falls off.

I dont have any washers on mine. This is my first turbo car and I honestly didnt now what to be looking for when using them. So I never put them in. Would the altitude have to do with anything where I am at compared to sea level? I will try puting a couple washers in mine on my lunch in about an hour.

Deal, and I will let everyone know how it does up here near the mountains. What will I be looking for that will be different. Will it just be less lag as you guys were discusing before.

It will hold boost. When I didnt have any washers you can feel the boost fall off early. Three is good. Gotta try 4 now.

Ran the car hard with 4 washers and it is perfect. No stumbling, it holds boost all the way and there is much less hesitation.

Me too... I also don't have a boost gauge to know if i'm holding all the way through or not.. this is my first as well.

The BOV comes without washers. You are leaking boost. The valve lets off at like 5 psi without the washers. Put 4 in and romp on it. You will be sooooo happy. It holds boost better then the stock valve. Im going to try all of them just to understand how the car reacts. To put a washer un just unscrew the valve take the spring ut and place the washers inside the valve then put the spring in and screw it back on. Good to go....

You means that instead of 15.6psi approx.. I was only at around 5 psi of boost while I was without the washer??? Hol.... sh... can't wait to get my car back and put those washer in :):D

It will go to 15 but wont hold it. I meant to say that once your at like 5psi it seemed to start to release.

I put the 3 in like you told me to do and I could tell a difference. I will try the four now. Thanks for the info Hypnotized. I am doing a boost gauge install here with in the next couple weeks. Its my first time so I dont want to screw anythinge up. I am getting all the info I can. Turbo xs shorty down pipe should be released by the end of this month. I have been talking with mark for awhile there now. Should be cheaper than the other ones out there. Mark is a great guy to work with there. I shipped me the turboxs hybrid valve for free cause of a couple issues I had with the bypass valve.
