Turbo Timer?

Hi folks, I use my speed as my Daily Driver, and I want to keep it as reliable as possible. I'm getting sick of sitting in my car for 30 seconds before shutting off, so I want a Turbo Timer. Can anyone recommend a good, basic unit that'll be cheap, easy to install, and reliable?

Thanks!

Instead of sitting for 30+ seconds in a parking space to let your turbo cool, and especially instead of spending more money, just stay out of boost for the last 30+ seconds of driving. Use the wind cooling effect. Turbo-paranoia sucks.

The warranty is the most reliable part of your car. So if you want your car to remain as reliable as possible. Don't fuc with it, and keep your warranty.<K p warranty.< your keep and it, with>

lol, a Turbo Timer won't void the warranty, will it? Why would Mazda be worried about something that HELPS reliability?

Is the HKS unit good? What's the difference between them? (hope you don't take it personally that I'm not going to listen to the word of the guy selling one)

Hks is a good TT i've owned 3 different HKS TTs in last 2 year on 3 different cars. works great and my dealer NEVER gave me any problems about TT. never even mentioned it...

www.greddy.com www.hksusa.com
i dont know apex'i's website offhand, but they have one
also Blitz makes one.

Please post this type of thread in the performance section too, this is most definately not MSP specific, or better yet, do a quick search for Turbo Timer. You'll dig up dozens and dozens of threads.

If you get the Blitz dtt it comes with a boost gauge as well. Id stay away from greddy though I hear it doesnt shut off sometimes!

ui have a blitz... i think it is a DC II or III... very simple to use/install and cheap. I think it cost 75 or so. I have the one w/out the boost gauge.

I love it already, and i only had it in for a week

I am going to add a CompuStar two way alarm and remote starter called the 2WSS-AS (two-way spread spectrum alarm/starter combo). I think that if you are planning to buy turbo timer, why not buy this combo, which has a built in turbo timer, additional of security which provide full surveillance of ones vehicle at all times from the pager, remote starter so that you don't have to warm your car, and can have your AC or heat turn on when the car start, also it looks cool which the LCD display pager can work within 6000feet. http://www.compustar.org/
The is 1 aution at ebay of this starter http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=3078972233&category=48611

there is another special installation with manual trans car which need additional parts to baypass the clutch or something like that, that what the guy told me from the store. Just remeber not to put in first gear or reverse when u park your car.

theres a reason clifford stoped making there remote start for manuals. trust me on this one it only takes once of you getting in your car to get something knock into gear and your cars wrecked. almost all remote start systems will recrank 3 times in the event of a no start. and if your parked on a downward hill it might not die. just stick with the tt

Warranty-paranoia sucks.

well since the alarm also comes with a TT... the car will have to be in neutral when you leave the car... so it would be in neutral when you go to start it.

I'd love to think that I could get a remote starter for my car, you can't believe how cold it gets here in MN, but from everything I've heard even if you get a special one for a MT, finding someone to install it would be difficult, as nobody wants the liability. Also, $500 is a bit out of the budget at the moment. (buying a garage to put the car in, with a nice house attached) Also, I don't need an alarm or keyless entry, the car comes with it!
