Turbo System Switch to MAM 2nd Gen Streeet Sleeper Kit

The kit customization from the bottom

I don't know who did the O2 bung welding, but I would have put it somewhere else, and welded it better.

Creative solution..

Now I had a issue. The first pipe that comes off of the turbo to the intercooler was made for a bypass valve. I have the HKS BOV. Now I have a flange that can be attached to HKS, and to a Bypass Valve Nipple, but the nipple has a smaller inside diameter than the one on the HKS. The first picture is the HKS and the flange. I had to get a big Gates hose, from Oriley's, and then I found some of my old hose, and cut a section out of it. I cut out enought of a section out of the old hosing to fit the insid ID of the Gates hose, and to seal up too!

Please note that LinuxRacr bought pieces of a Sleeper kit second and is putting together a Hybrid Sleeper setup.
The Sleeper kit does NOT come with O2 bungs in the downpipe or his BOV contraption.

LOL! Why it gotta be a contraption? (evil) Yeah, my kit is pretty custom, but the majority of it is the MAM sleeper. I reused some stuff from my old setups. Preemptive damage control for the possible confusion?

Lookin good Patrick. I think that with as many times as you have rebuilt something on that car, you have learned to be patient and wait to start it up like this - I know all about that. Anyways, happy birthday man.

Went for a short drive earlier. I haven't really stepped on it hard yet. Had some small exhaust leaks. I just tightened down the manifold studs a little more. No brute force.

You still welded it shut eh?! Wish I could've been more help with that. Looking good Pat. BTW I noticed the exhaust hanger on the right wasn't on the midpipe. Just looking out!!! I like the "contraption" for the BOV and the pipes look damn sweet. Wish mine didn't rub against the brake cylinder though. I'll take pics of what mine looks like and post so you can see how mine came out with the BOV.

After driving this car for a couple of days, I can see this car is going to be fast once the tuning is done. WOW!

Tonight me, Sam and Juan went out to tune in my car, and it is pretty scary now. It is not tuned optimally yet...more like safely, but at 15 PSI, WHOOOOOO! I spiked to 18 PSI once. Had the boost controller cut-off set too high. The car pulls smoothly, and not torquey. Took out timing to be safe for now. I know one thing now. The CAT must go!!! On the way home I found out that my internal wastegate is a 10 PSI wastegate. I turned the controller off, and the lowest I could boost was 10 PSI. The new setup hits so much harder!

Congrats Pat, enjoy it. Wish I was in your shoes.

(protest) The CAT Must Go!!! On a side note, the stock breaks are probably not going to cut it for long.

JDM Sam did some more tuning, and the car is even faster, and smoother!!! (eekdance)

At 14-15 PSI, the injector duty cycle was at 79%!

The green won't be that simple on that... I may have to clean for a day, and then doe some re-aranging of the wiring.

Moeed confirmed the need to re-adjust the timing map on my car. (ughdance)

I went out an tuned tonight, and made some headway. My timing was way too low due to Sam following my wishes for a really safe map. I kept thinking I was hearing ping when he was tuning, and he kept taking the timing away. We found out after all the changes that it was my boost controller limiting the boost, making a short hissing sound.

So tonight, I went out and made good on top of Sam's tune, and put the timing back. Not too much, but I smoothed out the map, and added timing around the boost threshold, so the car wouldn't be so lethargic before, and just after boost.
