just curious if they sold a kit to rebuild the turbo? if not would it even be worth it to send it somewhere to be fixed profesionally? and im also wondering where i could get ahold of a disco for a decent price?

last but not least

will the 5 bolt flange from the pope dp fit the disco? may be a noob question since im sure you can fab it to fit anything (universal)

I tried rebuilding my t3 turbo, called agp and they said they don't sell any parts seperately for the turbo. Your best bet money wise is to by the core (only if you already have the housings) they'll sell you a brand new turbo minus the housings for cheaper than what'd itd be to buy the whole thing, bolt your housings and wazzam brand new turbo. The pope dp bolts onto any 5 bolt exhaust housing turbo. They're all the same. Hope that helps

You can always get an eBay rebuild kit but be aware that the quality isn't great on that stuff. Also you don't just rebuild a turbo and call it good, it needs to be properly balanced by someone who knows what they're doing.

ya i am fully aware just didnt know how much it cost, where would one aquire these cores?

generally speaking for ball bearing turbos the only way to "rebuild" is to send them off to garrett and have one of their technicians refresh it. usually its just easier to buy a new C.H.R.A which is basically everything minus the scrolls. jdm sam at crossover auto carries the center housings.

mmmm i may end up getting the CHRA, it is like 750 at crossover, but heck... i pull the turbine and compressor housings and coat/polish then slap it together and i have a brand spankin new shiny turbo in my speed (headbang)

got any ideas as to where i could aquire one cheaper? i can find all kinds of t25 chra's but not really anything stating that it will work on a protege... correct me if im wrong but you cant use just any t25 assembly correct?

SO I'm having so turbo issues my self. What I've learned is the t25 ball bearing is none serviceable, Do to Garrett not selling the internals to the aftermarket. Only Garrett will refreshin. All though its a possibility that the seals are the same in the rebuild kits out there for the dynamic and or carbon seal turbos. I don't think its worth trying so i would just buy new and bigger. oh yeah non ball bearing so it can be rebuilt down the road

I would be careful switching to a journal bearing turbo if you don't have a BOV bc Iv heard journal bearing don't hold up well to compressor surge that our cars create

careful on your new BIGGER turbew. Bigger is not always better with turbews.

local turbo/dieasel shop is able to rebuild my t25 for 650 they called garrett and got a rebuild kit for it. check around alot of people say you cant rebuild and alot say you can.

mmm i guess ill call the only reputable performance shop in my town and see what he says lol... I hate that there are only like 2 performance shops in town, nebraska needs a larger tuner scene lol
