Mazda 3 lava orange hb manual
How much would it cost to have a turbo kit for the MZ3 installed professionally? Low end and High end price range.
Is there any recommendations on which turbo to buy?

I would expect a good shop to charge somewhere between $400 - $700 to install a kit, assuming it all goes on as planned without unexpected problems, and it comes with a good base map so they don't have to do any extra tuning.

I would highly recommend the Tri-Point kit, I've had it installed for a little over two years now and it's amazing. No problems with the engine at all (although expect to be replacing your clutch with a stage 2+ after not too long if you stick with your stage1 at first).

ProtegeGarage is installing my Tri-Point kit next week for 500 bucks(rockon)
the wait is killing me...

thanks guys, i heard of a new dealer in cali, i just emailed the guy, their website is fastwayracer.com and theres a turbo kit for 1200 on ebay, he said he just got them shipped from japan and they wont be on they website until he contacts his web designer. is this good or a scam? i just dont have 4k to put down for a turbo just yet

your engine built or no??? ive been looking around at the tripoint kit and was wondering how many pounds is safe for a DD car without it going boom on a stock motor.

yup, thats the cheapest the go for i think. usually 3900 or something like that and they put them on sale recently for 3400.

just save your money. dont waste the 1900 or however much it was on the ebay turbo. it will just end up being a headache in the end and you will kick yourself in the ass for not saving your money.

but that 3400 includes everything you would need for it though.

Nope, completely stock engine, other than a spin-on conversion w/ an inline oil cooler. I do a UOA every now and again after track days and it always comes back looking great... only slightly higher wear than the average levels for all the stock engines in their DB.

The kit puts out about 220whp with stock exhaust, I'm running a custom exhaust setup and tune which got it up to a little over 240whp. Haven't upped the boost, still just running the 8psi or so their kit comes configured for.

Nice,

Im not sure if i want to boost or not. i mean if i really want boost i might as well get a ms3. considering there is a really clean white one down here with 27k for 17k but im still not sure what i want to do.

only bad thing about the ms3 is that the parts seem like they are sooooooo much more money.but i know with that extra money comes more power. o well i dont think i need a ms3 for my first car.

maybe ill go turbo after a few years of running NA.

How many miles do you have on your car. and how much of that was on your turbo kit?

Kit went on at around 35k miles, and I'm about to hit 55k miles. If you have the opportunity to get an MS3, that would probably be a better route.

I had just already done so much work on my suspension and other aspects of the car that it made way more sense to turbo mine instead of trade for a speed when they came out... but for most people, trading up would be a better option.

have 10 grand ready to go to turbo....goes like this turbo kit>clutch>enginebuild>lsd>gears>so on bla

well lets see. the ebay kit cost 1250 bucks.... tripoint cost around 3400... doesnt that say anything???
