Hey all,

So the 1,000 mile break in period is over and I decided to take her through the range. I have owned 3 turbo cars and have never heard anything like this. The normal intake/turbo spool sound to about 5,000 rpm's. After that the sound is very audible and it is very high pitch. It is like a scream to the redline. Is this normal. I am used to the sound staying constant.

Hey Sloop! How have you been? A roar, possibly mixed with some screaming. Seems normal to me, yes. But; I'm no expert - just a big fan!

Greg,

I'm cool. My friend and I were out yesterday in his new yellow Evo VIII. he is suffering through the break in period (600) miles. The car is nice but it still has the same mitsubishi flaws. The radio is horrible and the quality is not there. The best or shall I say worst thin is he picked it up friday night in the dark and did a quick walk around. Saturday I found a nice big door ding on the left side. The car wants to go but I am vary wary of a lancer evo VIII right now since the dealers are adding $3,000 to $15,000 to msrp. My friend got his for msrp. I can't wait for my K&N to arrive tomorrow.

John:
They can have the Mitsubishi (for that kind of money). I think I would be very happy with the 350Z Track Edition if I were spending $35,000. And; that is what the Memphis dealers apparently plan to charge for the new Evo. :bs:

Anyway......be sure to hook up a bracket to support your K&N. Because; it will start to droop, if you dont. I posted photos on my K&N thread.
