turbo problem

Can you guys with the turbo problems be a little more descriptive, because my MSP feels very slow and doesn't sound right to me.

Thanks.

I do not think there is anything wrong with the turbo. If anyone has driven a 95-99 eclipse turbo they would realize it does the same thing. It is "basically" the same turbo except for the compressor size. The whistling is normal for all turbo's in my opinion albeit the size of the turbo. If ours was bigger it would be a nice woosh all the way to redline. The smallness of ours is the problem.

If it's still under warrenty have them change it. You should be charged anything right??? You already have the rental so go for it.

I might be wrong, but during the duration of our warrenty, we get a free loaner car??

I have a group buy the best gauges you can buy and they match the stock gauge almost perfectly...

That's strange, I need to inspect my turbo for any damage cause I was shooting through a canyon a month ago and noticed a very loud whistle. It kicked in around 3000rpm and pushing through 4000rpm, but like half way through the canyon it went away. Then it just turned into a whine but I felt more power the rest of the way. My theory, the turbine blade ends "weared" in probably causing the whistle sound.

My turbo makes like 4 different sounds all depending on the rpm and/or throttle possition. Is that normal because my car doesn't feels like it hits a wall if I press the accelerator more than about 40% like almost half the time.

Thanks.

I think I have the sound and can describe it better. its as metalic screeching sound. NOT a turbo wine. It happens to mine if I run on the hwy for a while then stop for a few minutes and then go again. On the second trip I will hear it at RPMs above 3000. It is very much loader than the turbo wine and it makes me schkeeve. kinda like fingernails on a chaulkboard.

In addition I had the problem with the loose oil fitting on the turbo. I wonder if that is a common theme. Any one have the oil line prob and the skreeech?

Hope you have your problem fixed it you do have a problem in fact. I don't know, my car doesn't really feel right. Everybody says that there MSPs are fast at like 9 psi, but mine feels slower at 9psi than it does at stock psi. Wierd
