What kind of times are you running with turbo's. I'm trying to decide if it's worth the upgrade. I've got a 50 shot of nos, and running a 9.1 in the 1/8 mile. We don't have a 1/4 drag close by, so pardon my times.

current mods(minor):
ground control adjustable coilovers (eibach springs)
5% tint all the way around
Injen CAI
50 shot nos from nitrous xpress
mazdaspeed catback exhaust

future: (possibilities)
garrett gt turbo???????????????????
plus all the goodies to go with it
 
Ill be bringing my car to the track to try out 4 psi...maybe 6, and see what I am running....I know it won't be to its full potential because my car isn't pulling in the high rpms like it should, I am pretty sure if I ran her a little leaner It would do much better...but I don't wanna mess with it...I am expecting 14s however
 
Im not going to post my times because I sucked. Had clutch slip very bad and a lot of tire spin.
Well...anyway here it is:

See that MPH??? thats for 14.5 times with a better grip and clutch.
That run was @ 6psi

It almost seems that nos is running better than a turbo, but I'll wait to see what falkofire's times are. I know that nos is cheap hp, but I thought the turbo would put up a respectable match. keep me informed.
ps. why are you running so low(5psi). Have you not built the bottom yet?? Our service manager here said that you could turn one up to around 13-14 psi with some minor mods. (in-line fuel pump, crank etc). let me know
 
Nitrous oxide is cheaper.....when running turbo at high boost you need proper engine management...wich perfwork is working on...since falk doesnt have it...i think thats why he isnt running mad boost...although you could bump it up maybe 8.....but i think thats pushing it....anyways yeah i also running 5lbs right now...as soon as i get some more money i will get the piggyback and run 8lbs...maybe 10lbs.....also most of us have not upgraded internals....same goes for igdrasil....i think...maybe i am wrong...i am still a newb....

I'm new to this site, but not new to cars. I love turbo's, nothing like that sound, but in the interim, the nos was cheaper and faster(or so it seems). Let me know in the future on upgrades and performance.

It just came out about a month and a half ago. The mazdaspeed exhaust for the mazdaspeed is to long, they just made one on the ss package(I know, kind of cheesey) lx protege. SS pack includes all of the MP3 ground effects and rear wing spoiler and a mazdaspeed exhaust. The exhaust actually sounds better than the mazdaspeed, deeper throatier. The exhaust outlet is larger more circular than the speed, still chrome.

I'm confused...
I have mazdaspeed axle back exhaust I got it from dealer, and it's not catback and yours are cat back??? only $185?
 
Dealer cost, some upgrades through are nifty mechanics too(cutting and fixing) fun stuff. The exhaust you have is probably the same from the axle back, some minor engineering (cut and replace, some welding too) and it's a catback.
I guess somewhat misleading now that I read back through it all. Sorry for any confusion

Here are our results:

60 ft 2.39
330 ft 6.22
1/8 9.1 @ 84.43 MPH
1/4 13.8 @ 105 MPH

This was at 12 psi of boost and with the stock tires.
 
Thanks for the times hiboost, this info is helpful in my decision. I've always been a big fan of turbo's but I wasn't sure if it was worth the expense.
It looks to be promising
