I want to turbo charge my MP5. But im not sure what the first step is. Looks like i should start with small stuff like intake and exhaust. But im not to familiar with cars.

I was taking a look at some kitsand i wanted to know
what kits do you guys recomend, and it possible can you tell me what the total hp gain was. and info like that

i also heard that when i turbo charge the p5 i have to change the axels or something like that. I read a thread here saying that they can snap. So basically i just want to be prepared before i go ahead and purchase a turbo kit.

Thanx

do a search...don't bother getting an intake unless it will be compatible with the turbo, the axles won't snap if you are running street tires, if you are running like 240+whp and slicks, then yes, they will probably snap...

Don't forget, you're going to need to invest in a heavier clutch to handle the power. The stock p5 clutch isn't gonna last long....and if you're planning to TC an automatic, good luck to you and your tranny.

yea, my stock clutch lasted a whole 3 days when i turboed my car, and it was pretty much brand new haha

lol, I can see why. Jeff's car hauls! But ya, you're going to need a good 2-3k for the actual turbo and its components and to actually get it on the car. After that, it's all a matter of the stuff that's gonna go. First couple things will be clutch of corse, tires if you're not careful, you'll prob want a new flywheel, small stuff... Not to forget other goodies like downpipes, turbo back exhaust, some kind of fmu, etc.... Good place to start is by saving up money like crazy while at the same time spending a ton of time on this forum researching, planning, and asking questions to other members. I myself plan on joining the darkside one day. This forum is great for support and help.

my clutch is holding up fine. The stock one won't last 50k but it will definatly work for a while.

But I would definatly suggest getting the Essential Speed Stage 2e turbo setup. I think it is definatly one of the best and most complete kits out there.

The kit is really simple to install, comes with a Vortec FMU and uses the GT28r dual ball bearing turbo. I have yet to get to a dyno but let me tell you this SOB goes!!!!

The kit may seem a little pricey but it is definalty one of the most complete kits out there. I haven't even gotten aroudn to installing my O2 Modifyer that is supplied with the kit and my car has not thrown a CEL and that is after about 3000 miles!!!!

I will post a link to the pictures I have of it but if you would like more information about it you can call Kevin at 519-650-9520 or go to www.essentialspeed.com
