My brother just got a 1990 Mitsubishi eclipse GS Turbo. He thinks he will be able to take me when i get my Spool Stage 1 kit in a week or two. Yes it is really fast and we was kicking everones ass we raced last night, but do you really think he will take me. Oh its in really good condition, the previous owner was an old lady. haha

Come On I want to know what you think???

We have always been competing trying to get the fastest car

I was running 5psi when I raced an Eclipse GS-X at the track, this is when I had my T-28. He fouled the line and I still caught him and beat him. So with the Spoolin stage 1 kit you will be getting a bigger turbo I think you will be able to take him. Ooh and th GS-X that I raced was running 10 PSI.

Yeah I thought i would be able to beat him but he said yeah right

Another Question PLEASE??? His stock boost gauge goes from
-7 to 0 to7 to14 when he gets on it, it goes almost all the way up to 14. Does this mean he's pushin up to 14 PSI?!?!?!?!?

Get a video camera and film the whole thing :D

I think it will come down to driver ability.

sounds about right, GS-Ts usualy run high PSI, their engines are built to handle high boost and are pretty low compression. Doesn't make him cool, just makes it sound high ;)

5 psi on a normally non turbo engine is more impressive than 14psi on a WRX or GST, it's pretty normal. My friend's gst runs about 16PSI, it's a little slower than a z28 camaro

whew that makes me feel a little better about the PSI. Driver ability hmmm and he's got 190 hp stock I think i'll take him

Depends if the Eclipse is AWD or not...

The DSM crowd in Ottawa are all running 20-22 PSI on their engine, and the AWD cars are in the very low 13's (1 of them is running 12.8 on a stock J-Spec engine!) and the FWD cars are running Mid 13's to low 14's.

Depending on the power 5 PSI will make on the protege block, you can easily be in the 14's with a good set of sticky tires.

You should be able to kick the Eclipse's ass if he is still running 15 PSI and less, but if he ups the boost, you'll be seeing his tailights!

May I remind you guys that I don't know the potential of a turboed MP5, but I'm pretty sure 200 WHP is within reach.

not too much is new... I got very broke very fast.... Onec I get my taxe$ back I'll be putting that towards the microtech system w/ larger injectors.... For time being I have heat wrapped my downpipe. That should do until I get the coating.

haven't u read about spoolin and his situ. wit microtech...? are you still goin wit that system regardless or...whats the deal?

I know for a fact that My, Brother-inlaws 92 Laser RS-Turbo AWD was pretty freekin quick and all he did was add the K&N FIPK and Pacesetter cat-back. Also everytime he would launch he would rev the engine to redline, drop the clutch and kazzammm, it would knock you back to the seat, even switching to 2nd gear it still kept my neck back to the seat. Well to really be honest though the 95-99 Eclipse turbo's are weak compared to the 90-94 Eclipse's with the old platform. I found a old spec data about a 93 GSX and it did 0-60....6.6sec 1/4mile 14.8sec Stock.

ive beatin a gsx w/ exhaust from a roll

and a gs-t with a BOV from a dig

With a few mods those DSMs can be very quick.

gsx < gst from a roll. gsx's can launch really high because of awd. Whoever it was that launched from redline in the laser should have fun fixing their car, cause launching from that high is really bad for it. I was looking at 1g or 2g eclipses/talons before I discovered the msp, and let me tell you they are fast. With relatively few mods they can start to get really fast really quickly. The most informative site on dsms (Diamond Star Motors) is http://www.dsm.org. http://1000q.dsm.org has is an extensive faq about every aspect of the cars.
