Turbo Lag

Yes i know that a second gear pull should be started above 3000 rpm, i was just curious here to see about the boost, cause even if im driving around town and out of no where i randomly want to punch it say in 2nd or 3rd gear i get some major lag even if im reving like 2500-3000. Its not my driving either that is the problem as ive been driving turbo cars for a few years now i just thought i shuold have faster spool with the small turbo on this car. But i did have a look yesterday and it does turn out to have a small exhaust leak on the top of the turbo mani, so i guess im going to be spending some cash to get an aftermarket mani.

its not going to spool fast when the engine is bogged like that.. its starting to spool at that rpm.. thats a good quick spool time.. now like everyone else was saying.. when you are hitting the 3k-3.5k rpms, its spooling like a bat outta hell.. which is where the powerband starts for this car..

xox1de - you said your car became extrememly rich from 3500 to 4000 rpms because of maxing out your injectors? is that what happens if you max them out? cause that happens to me sometimes too.

When I datalog I saw my injectors maxed out @ 4500rpm, because is more than 90% dutycycle. I have to reduce the pulsewidth between 3500-4000 btw cuz it was 80% DC. with t3/t4, a 440cc is a minimun.

your gasket seems bad. But if you remove the turbo check for shaft play

if you have a piping leak.. you'll know.. the car will will buck and hesitate.. but it won't lag.
