Well, as you can see in the pics on page 1, I don't have that piece, lol. maybe I can just thread a bolt through there to plug it for now?

The oil lines are just to lubricate the bearings. Not really for cooling the turbo. And the coolant lines are to cool the turbo. There are some turbo's that are oil cooled like the T-series turbos. But the Garretts are usually water cooled.
Yea, I've got the water cooling hoses for the turbo. You can see them attached in the pics. But you're right, I don't know where I'm gonna tap to get the water, lol.

theres no tapping... :)
Hooks up to the engine as Tony just made me aware of. :) As frustrating as this whole endevour has been, it's amazing how much I've learned. I love this community!

No tapping lol? Then how do you get water to cool the turbo.

If you look on the drivers side on the block you will see a perfect spot. I took pictures and I am pointing at it. This is where I will be tapping mine.

There's actually a spot on the back of the engine, just under the intake mani where the water pocket is. Our engines have a bolt plugging it now. I just learned this as of 15 min ago. terbow=theman.

if you get all the proper msp pieces theres no tapping.

if u dont theres tapping of course.

But how much are the proper msp parts. Tapping just seems much easier and just as reliable. Tapping for the oil line is hard enough. Just make sure you have a 24 deep socket to get it off.

i dont know how much, 17.5k? haha thats what i paid :)

im just sayin. hes got the msp kit, so theres no tapping. its up to u if u want to do that or not. me personally id get the parts just cause im anal and i know it all fits but its probably just as reliable for sure, if u tap the correct spots.

hey i thought 17.5 wasnt bad for a msp 2 years ago. it stickered at 21k :)

its all in all prolly like 300-400 in parts or so.

Yea, for all the little s*** like gaskets, fittings, hoses and s***. Like Rob said, the exhaust mani and turbo new go for like 1500. But individually, the fittings and whatnot usually run around $10 or so. It adds up quick!

Does this kit preserve Both Cats in the P5?
I'm goin to do a custom exhaust from the downpipe to my racing beat catback. I don't think there's anyway to just bolt it up to the existing p5 exhaust setup.

actually, from the j-pipe on, its the exact same as the p5 setup...if u still have your stock "coffee can" precat, u can seperate the little j-pipe under that and connect it to the s-pipe of the turbo kit...from then on, it will fit perfectly...thats how im doing mine in a few months...

Even better, that's what I like to hear! Your talking about the s-pipe on the p5 not the msp, right?
