Turbo install this weekend

I don't think it's gonna be a go this weekend. I went to the last Mazda dealer in RI and they don't have any parts either. I went to Karl's Eastcoast Speedway after that to pickup a banjo fitting I need for the water feed, and he said I need the thread size and pitch. I have no idea. I don't wanna mickey mouse this so I think I'm gonna just order the rest of the stupid s*** that I was expecting to buy around here and do it next weekend. I dunno anymore...(bang)

The P5 has the same J-pipe but you do need the msp s pipe. I think thats what flypinoy7 is trying to say.

Score and a half... so the MSP kit will preserve both CATS!!! Best news on the forums I have heard in a long time! +1 to you.

take the waterline off the turbo (19mm socket) see if the bolt fits in side the long water line (im 99% sure it will) if it fits, thats the size, take tha tto the guy and get an extra one. i told u it was 3/8 npt.... ;)

Good info, but that seems very tedious. I already have all the stock water lines. The feed hooks up to the back of the block and the return hooks up just as described in that doc, to the driver side of the engine. The non-boosted fs-de's have the piece there, there just isn't any water lines attached obviously. I checked mine last night. If you have the stock MSP setup you shouldn't need to do all that splicing.

So 3/8 is the pitch?

Lol, thanks Mark! I'm really torn about starting this tomorrow. I dunno if I should start and order needed parts I can't find as I go, or if I should order the rest of the s***, then begin.

pay attention! haha. besides if its the same width, you can just bring it doen and be like...gimme one of these. now. .

good luck with the install, i just got done installing mine, i put about 3 mornings and 1 full night to install mine..

issues i ran into.. it was a used turbo, no shaft play, but i think the actuator is screwed up or i have a boost leak.. and i have a small oil leak on the return line...

just watch out for those leaks, it threw me for a loop to find them..

good luck with the install... like i said, will take teh better part of 3 days to do if you do it by urself...
