How can you mod them? What do the STi's flow?

If I remember correctly, STIs are 550cc. Internally both injectors are the same with a different cap. RC Eng also do the same mod if you send them to them. Both can do 740cc

Alberta is going to have some fast little Proteges this summer..I know Maxx and I are both ordering parts and starting our builds...Good luck boys! I have sooooo many nice shiney parts waiting to be installed :)

Thanks for the info on the emanage Viral! The only thing im really worried about is the tuning and what engine management to use. Not many local shops are too familiar with tuning proteges(ughdance) I really dont like being the test pilot for engine tuning when im spending college money on a motor..lol woohhooo

Exactly my fear...where to go??? I hear the haltech wont start in our climates...hates the cold.

You go to a full standalone with the MPI but again...where to get it tuned?

Hmmmmmmmmmm... Do you have any more info on this?

There are plenty of reputable shops in Calgary for tuning I just have to look into who can tune what system and will be able to tune my car properly. I have not really looked into it yet in great depth but will once im closer to build time. What are your plans or what have you considered MAXX?

What system are you using for rcts to tune it???? Reg Rimer Im guessing??? he tuned by buddies RX7 single turbo to well beyond belief of FAST...its nutzzzzz!!!

Ya, that's Reg's shop. I'm running the Split Second AFC.

Wrong type of compressor surge, he was referring to the surge that happens

with the compressor cover or inlet of the turbo. Basicly if the pressure is

higher coming into the turbo than exiting it will cause a surge(on a compressor

map the region to the left of the "surge line" would cause this affect).

exactly, you hit the nail on the head....

I think I'll be going with the GT30R (3037r) with the 4" anti-surge inlet. Should spool a little (very little) faster, and I wont have to worry about it.

You dont need the antisurge thing. This turbo has a very nice compressor map.
Spoolup can be shifted with the turbine A/R. A 48A/R will spool so damn fast it would feel almost like a stock small turbo. A 63 A/R is perfect and the .82 will spool like a .63 on a journal bearing turbo.

Anyone looking for over 500whp should use .82

check this video: http://videos.streetfire.net/video/185c6f57-4588-4de5-95a5-98d001019c62.htm

This a FE3 2.0L, running a .63 GT35R, put it in the min 3:00 of the video you will see how fast it spools up. On 3:40 (4th gear) you will hear some surge.

Hey I am from edmonton too...by the way, the performance shop you are talking about, where is that at? I only know few of the mod shop around town.

Hey, if you're using the emanage on a MSP ECU, are you using an O2 voltage clamp? I've always read its necessary but I didn't see it in your sig.
