yup you need the o2 clamp or you still throw a CEL

Thanks. Trying to figure out this whole O2 clamp thing because my P5T is running one with a FPR but I'm considering going to a MSP ECU, and working on a piggy-back that alters the MAF signal. So what I understand is, the Emanage always needs the O2 sensor because it modifies the injectors, so for a given MAF voltage the car thinks it is running too rich and can pull fuel? This is why the DSM AFC doesn't need the O2 clamp?

What I'm hoping is that if I'm running the P5 ECU and a piggy-back that modifies the MAF sensor, I might not need the O2 clamp? I know that the SAFC is supposedly not able to work with our cars, but a friend is actually developing and testing another piggy-back on my car and I'm hoping to do away with the O2 clamp if I can.

Sorry to thread-jack, I'm just trying to get info from people who have had real-world experience with the emanage etc.

Whoa...this was from a while back I did not see the post...Weird thing is I m still throwing a cel somewhere...Try it out with the P5 ecu and lemme know what happens.
