Turbo an Automatic?!?!

Does anyone know if it is possible to turbo-charge an automatic? I was planning on getting a Protege with an auto-trans. Any inquiries would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Yes you can...You might have route the exhaust a little different, but you can.

Also, it should be noted that as long as the auto tranny will hold the power, it should be a few tenths of a second quicker on the dragstrip.

I agree with Stutters and cyomega...
I would imagine you would likely need an aftermarket tranny cooler, and a higher stall torque converter would probably help on the launching... Wouldn't be too much different as far as the plumbing vs. a Manual tranny. The only thing would be the strength of the transmission itself.

Ah yes! Supercharging the vehicle sounds like a good idea. But where would one get a supercharger for a Mazda? Which is better? A supercharger or a turbo?

Oh no...

I believe you have just cracked open the age old debate yet again...

And I have no desire to even begin it.
