Tuning

So, where is the best place for me to take my '11 Speed3 to get tuned when its out of the body shop? I will be the Borla Exhaust and an ATP 3" Stainless Catless High Flow Downpipe installed while it's at the body shop. I'm looking for a place in one of the following cities:

San Antonio
Austin
Houston
Corpus Christi

I know there is no such shop down here in the Valley, for now.

With so few parts, a tune is not really needed yet. You will get plenty of power with the few parts and no tune. When you start modding alil harder then it will be bout time for a tune.

The basic ots map on a AP can give you alil extra, but if you plan on modding more, wait to tune so you dont double dip your money for same stuff

I suggest you get fuel pump internals before the downpipe. The Cobb AP stage 1 maps support intake/catback. If you're set on getting it tune, the cobb facility is in Austin and noone knows more about the genpu's around the area than them.

Also, isn't the borla exhaust only an axleback?

Nope. The Borla is cat back. Also, I do not wish to add any other mods, I think. Heck. I just want my darn car back. I will not get it back until next Friday.

I just want to make sure this does not continue to happen on the bumper since it will be a brand new one with fresh paint:

Ya you need fuel pump internals before you get tuned or you will just hit fuel cut, then as time goes one it will s*** out anyway.

the whole carbon spray deal.. ya welcome to turbo cars. tune or no tune, while at WOT or just playing with hard take offs, you will spit. Hell i got splatter on my garage floor from just turning on. So either you will have to deal with it, or clean your car every morning or night for the day

Makes me want to put some black carbon film on the whole rear bumper so you don't see that crap. lol

Most ppl get KMD internals unless u really want to get the whole fuel pump from cpe and turn yours in for core reimburse ment. But most ppl you talk to go with KMD internals

Nope. KMD internals are not the best. Autotechs all the way. If you get anything else, you're wasting your money. I've heard of several sets of KMD internals failing, but Autotechs have held up.

Then it comes to preference cause I'm running KMD and I've had them for 2 half years now with no issues.

The best thing is to just go onto mazdaspeed forum and just do bait of research and see which ones you like. This ways there's no back and forth talk on which ones are better lol

If you go on MSF, everyone will tell you Autotech. That's why I said Autotech. I'm in the live chat area all the time with the big doggs running over 400whp.

Well i have yet to have any issues with my kmds and ive had for bout 2 years now. So for me i still like it but im not going to down autotech cause ive never used or read bout them.

If autotech is the most commonly used ones now then u could try those.

As for the exhaust and rich tune, even my NA car has that. But my Vibrant exhaust sticks out just a bit further than yours is and it doesn't spit on the bumper cover. Your exhaust reminds me of the sedan guys running the hatch exhaust which is slightly shorter. Because the sedan is nearly 2" longer the tail/tip tucks inside the cover and the ones I know of had issues with melted/deformed bumper covers and the smell of overheated plastic.
Perhaps having an exhaust shop add in a slip joint of 1-2" would help? Or just a slightly longer tip?
