Tucking them wires!

ok guys today is the day (I think HA) i got the stock HU on my P5 out and im going to do the install i have all my wires set to go but I'm curious what's the simplest way to tuck these. I want to run them under the center console and mount my amp under the driver seat.
1. What all screws do i remove, Clips etc. and I'm running the power under the door sills.
2. On the center console i guess the screws are under those button looking things... do those just pop off? sorry im learning. 3. What all tools do I need for this?
4. Wish me luck!
Thanks!

1...just pull up on the trim around the inside of the sills it's just
tucked in

2...remove the cuphold by pulling up and out, remove the trim
around the e-brake the same way, remove the two rear
screws the two screws under the e-brake trim, and the two
covered screws at the front of the console on the both sides
(the covers just pop off), then pull the entire unit rearward
and up.

3...for removing the interior just a #2 phillips screwdriver and a
small flat tip. for running the power wires there's a nice
gromet already in the passengers side foot well. use a small
awl to make a hole for the wire and push through...it'll go right
under the carpet to run down the side.

I woun't bother with under the center console. Too much of a b****.
Just run the speaker wires down one side and the power on the other. Just remoive the seat you are mouning under and it will be easy!! :D

thanks all for all the tips.. Removing the seat.. is that tough? what size bolts are they any clue? are they located under those plastic feet (for lack of a better word) near the seat. sorry guys I know I'm probably asking some dumb questions but I want to make sure I'm ready to go this afternoon.

I personally don't recomend mounting amps under the seat. It would get poor ventilation and if you accidently spill anything down there your fried! Besides you can't show off your amp when its hidden! I'm not saying it can't be done but when I worked at a stereo shop we always had waivers signed so we were not responsible.

The seat has 4 plasic covers over the bolts, then I believe they are 14mm bolts but it couls be 17mm. I can't remember.

OH!!!
For a good picture and relaxation opertunity. When the seat is out fo the car, put it infront of your TV while you play Grand Turismo. Funny and fun (thumb). Not to mention if its not going well it will make you laugh a bit.

I can get the seat out in under 5 minutes. Very easy just the 4 bolts and the drivers seat may have a clip and wires pluged into from the floor. Push the seat to cover most of the rails so its easier to take it out. Also take the head rest off so you can get the seat out of the door.

Mounting under seats is not as isolated as in a trunk but if done right and you aren't a chuckle head you will be fine. Just don't throw coffee on it. Mine are liekly to go under there too.

lol I got a good chuckle out of the gran turismo thing man I needed that thanks again sir and the name of that store i got the harness from is audio in motion. Ring a Bell?

I think they may be an audiobanh dealer?

I did the seat thing for 2 weeks when I first had my car apart.
SO FUNNY.
Can you imagine the look on my girlfirends face when she walked in the room with me there. I had bought an analog wheel then too. So i am sitting in my car seat in my living room (passanger seat and center console was ther too :D) playing GT2. HALARIOUS!!

LMAO

-Alpo: I also mounted mine under the seats and they work fine, beats the crap out of losing space from my trunk. Do you have side airbags? if so, make sure you disconect that wire as well, I'd disconect the battery before doing this (I know, I'm paranoid).

Ran my power wire through the firewall on the passenger side. There is a rubber wrapper holding a bunch of other wires there. Poked a screwdriver through it, then pushed the wire through and grabbed it from the inside with some needle nosed pliers. No leaks and easy to run.
Then just tuck it under the door sills (they pop off easily) to the seat area and run it to the amp. You can run your RCA jacks under the center console.
I mounted my amp under my passenger side seat. Works fine, and when you have the floor vents on it blows air across it. Seems to run fone for me, and the ground wire is short, just ran it to a seat rail bolt. Never had any whining problems, and the install actually took about 15 minutes with a friend. I didn't remove the seat even, just slid a couple small pieces of wood through the factory holes in the carpet under the seat and screwed the amp in place to those through the carpet with a stubby screw driver. Works like a champ!

ok on my lunch break today at work I started tucking I had to go under through the console b/c I already cut my wires and crimped them... I run them through the console but I'm just worried is there anyway I'm going to mess up my stick shift by having those wires that close to it? will it tangle up or anything? cuz right now I have them going down each side of it under the console. is there a better way to do that

nah, you should be fine. just remember to seperate the power wires from the rca's/speaker cables. i ran a system like that in my miata i used to have and never had a problem.

Sweet, the only things i have under the console is my speaker and my remote cable... I read that you should splice the remote in with the two red powers wire is that right? and is there any particular side you have to put the remote on?

INto the two red power wires? What? I hope you mean the red formthe aftermarket harness and not the factory colors.

The stick shift is just a bar that goes through the floor. nothing to get cought in at all. Just make sure you put those wire up there nice and high so they don't come down one day and stick out.

hey sorry yeah I mean the red wires on the aftermarket harness does it matter which aftermarket harness i splice it into? I mean reverse or standard harness..
