tsb about rust on brakes

Crap. the bastards at White Plains (New York, where else) Mazda Nissan wouldn't even offer to take care of it, and then when I mentioned that there's a TSB about it so why won't they take care of it, the guy's like, well we don't get reimbursed by Mazda for it. What a helpful attitude, and they're the closest dealership to where I work...

Now I'll have to see if the dealership that I bought it from (which is 40 miles away) will take care of this for me...

I basically got the same thing from the dealer here so I just did it myself..
it is easier than fighting with the dealership.. :)

CALL MAZDA!!!! and complain to them that their dealership doesnt' want to fix Mazda's mistake!!! who gives if a stealership is loosing money!!

I'd do it myself but I don't have access to any power sources outside where I live. I have all the tools to do it but they're all plug dependent...

I also visited the dealership that I bought the car at (Maxon Mazda) and they were more helpful, but the service guy said that they've tried painting the exposed portion of the hub but the paint starts peeling after 6 months. Any truth to that?

if you wanna drive it down here, I will do it for ya.. no charge.. :D

Thanks for the offer, but kinda far you know? If you were closer I would've taken you up on the offer, ha!

Get yourself a nice long extension cord. You do have power IN the house, don't ya?

Seems like maybe your pads aren't contacting the rotor evenly. There should'nt be rust at all on the rotor braking surface. Are your pads wearing evenly? Are the calipers working? Are the pistons working? Your rotors could be warped or that part of the rotor could be glazed.

theres rust on the edges of my rotors and around the hub. cant i just get my rotors plated or something?

The tsb is not about rust on the rotor itself, but on the hub (the part that sticks out in the center onto which the rotor is mounted).

Yes, sure you could get it plated but it would cost $$$ compared to getting it painted. Anyway I just sent a complaint email to MyMazda.com and let's see how they respond for my situation...
