Ok im planing on buying one of these tomorrow or next week .
Will it void any part of the warr.?
Is it an easy install (can i do it myself)?
Which one is better the poly or the derlin?
What does it do as far as movement?

It should be an easy install, theres a writeup on here somewhere for the AWR mount.

It will prevent the engine from moving around a whole bunch, which translates to less wheel hop, smoother shifts and better overall power delivery.

I'm not sure on the other questions, I don't think it will void the warranty, but Idon't know that for sure. Either way, its a better unit than the stock one, so this part shouldn't cause any problems with the warranty.

install of the rear mount is easy. took me like 10min to install my AWR one. Should void warranty unless it is the cause of the problem. Also the Derlin i believe is more vibrant....so you will feel in more in the cabin. especially when the A/C compressor kicks in.

i brought mine in for the other mount recall. thay knew it was there and didnt say anything. mazda is pretty cool about mods. thay wont give you a hard time unless that part caused the damage to your car.

if the 70duro AWR is too intense for you I don't see this mount being much of an improvement in the comfort department, with either the delrin or poly bushings.

Well I dont have the AWR so have no idea other then what others have said about harshness. Just wondering, this seems to be a much nicer design and such, but if you think the 70duro AWR is the best for comfort and strength, that says allot.

i would not put a 70 duro AWR mount on a mazdaspeed3. if you want to use an AWR mount then i would go no lower than 88 duro. the car simply makes too much torque and power for that soft of a bushing in that style of mount.

Why do you guys wanna replace something like a motor mount? I figure, if my engine falls out doing 60MPH....im in for a HUGE settlement.

Not to mention if it falls out while doing a launch...

Question, and I think someone's answered it but I'm not seeing it - Does the dogbone replace the AWR mount option? Are we all talking about the same motor mount here, or is it two different mounting points?

Which would you go with to keep a stock feel in the cabin, yet have less overall movement?

I don't have bad vibrations with the 88dur. awr. I might just be less picky than some people but I hardly even notice it except for when I'm taking off at a light, and that's only sometimes.

this mount is an option instead of the AWR and SU mounts.

this mount does not replace the #4 mount that is know by mazda to be bad.
this mount replaces the lower torque mount. it is a performance upgrade.
it will keep your engine/trans nice and still. this will help reduce wheel hop and make the shifts nice and smooth. you know how there is a huge thread about people complaining about missing 3rd gear...... well this part singlehandedly fixes that problem.

I can't wait to get one of these mounts on my car here in the next week or so. Definitely going with the Derlin mount. I like it a stiffer motor mount makes me feel like I'm more connected to the car.

NOW i understand. I miss third all the time. Why is that? Because of a mount? I feel like i cant put it into gear when im diving hard.

for those of you who have ordered......

it appears that the thread on the nut that is welded to the mount, does not match the stock bolt. we did notice this issue during prototyping and it was supposed to be addressed. somehow the plans never got updated to correct this. it is really not a big deal at all and will have no effect on anything.
we are shipping out the correct bolts with the first batch of mounts. the few that have shipped already will recieve the bolts seperatly in just a few days.
i appologize for this (even though i didnt make the mounts)
i am actually kind of embarressed, i do all this bragging and product support, and the fabricator goofs up ?!?!? oh well, like i said it will make no difference at all, and it will be fixed on all future batches.
i look forward to updates as to how you all feel about the mount soon !

the missed gears are due to the engine/trans flopping around like crazy.
the mount will hold it in place so that the famous long linkage that FWD cars have will line up and shift smoothly

I'm new to the MS3 board as I'm looking at buying a new MS3 (either an 07 sport leftover or new 08 GT).

I had a question about this "TRZ Motor Mount". I'm coming from the world of V8s and Fords. I've raced Mustangs, Cobras, Lightnings, etc and done everything when it comes to mods. Is this TRZ motor mount the same TRZ motorsports company that makes all suspension pieces for the Mustangs?? The TRZ in Florida? They are one of the originals for Mustang Racing suspensions and just curious if this is the same company.

Thanks in advance and I hope to have my new MS3 within the next few weeks. I'm waiting until the end of this month to get a better deal.

Oh sweet, thats good to hear. Thats pretty cool that they are getting into other performance cars besides the mustang. I know all about their quality, it's top notch. I used to race my 9 second Cobra in the NMRA along with my Lightning. I know where to get my motor mount then. Everyone else should as well. haha.

Thanks for the info!
