So I just got back from a week's vacation in London and I am reporting to you guys that I did not see one single "9" in that big, magnificent city...not one...not even a CX7. Seven whole days and I saw one Mazda 6 the whole time. There were tons of Jaguars, BMWs, Porsches, VWs, Peugeots, a few Rolls and a bunch of tiny Smart Cars...but not a solitary "9" anywhere.

What's-up-with-that? Can anyone shed any light on this phenomenon?

Another thing is that their steering wheels are on the right side and they drive on the left side of the road...verrrry confusing! Think those Brits know something we don't know?

Anyway, the folks there are really polite and friendly (cabbies help you with your luggage)and I did have a splendid time!

There's an easy answer to your question. The CX-9 is not sold in the UK. Large SUVs are not popular in most European countries. Due to taxes and high fuel costs they are much more costly to own than here in the US. In addition, the roads and parking spaces are typically narrower so they are not as practical. The only large SUV I can ever recall seeing in Europe are high end luxury models. It seems the people with enough money to buy unecomical vehicles much prefer sporty cars or luxury brands.

You may have a point because while not seeing any CX9s, I did see several Porsche Cayennes, Audi Q5s & Q7s, Volvo XC70s & XC90s and lots of Land and Range Rovers.
