i have a 1999 model protege es with a auto trans. and was wondering if anyone has had problems out of automatic trans. this has only started this in the last day or so. when you first crank the car up after it has sit for a long period of time the car cranks fine you slid the shifter into reverse it goes into gear immediately then when you shift it into drive it takes about 10 seconds to feel the car go into gear.today i was backing my car up my driveway to check the oil and it crunk up fine, reversed fine, then when i put the car into drive i sat there for about 5 seconds i thought the car was in drive so i mashed the gas pedal, when i did the car jerked really bad and the overdrive off light came on in the gauge cluster and it was blinking it has never did this. i shut the car off crunk it back up and it did fine. the car has started acting like this ever since i put my aem short ram air intake on(could the intake have something to do with the transmission changing out right) or could it be not letting the car warm up enough before i put it into gear i usually just crank and go. the car has been babied and the fluid has been changed 20k miles ago, the fluid is checked regularlly and its full and the car only has 70k miles on it. if anyone has had a simillar experience with a protege trans. or might know what is wrong it would help alot. thanks kevin rodriguez oh by the way does anyone know what the drivetrain warranty is on a protege. i out my aem intake on about a month ago and the car has been acting up a little since then but today it did this.
