transmission shot or lsd?

I broke my diff and drove it 5 miles the next day I went to drive it on the roll back to take it to work and fix it and it wouldn't drive at all

I guess you have definitely confirmed that its the diff for me, thats exactly whats happening runs, shifts but doesnt move

I broke mine before also. Yours is definitely gone. Don't get a welded diff, waste of time and don't even mess with PG. By the time it gets shipped, you might just wake up in a new Bugatti...or you will get a junkyard diff with crappy welds that will break within a week. Just hit up crossover auto for a MFactory diff. You won't regret making that purchase.

+1 ^^^^^^

im swapping my trans with one that has a welded dif already in it BUT thats because the trans was part of the deal package when i bought another members built engine from his MSP that he parted out.

but def get an m-factory. cheaper and probably just as strong as the Qualfe. that m-factory lsd will handle anything you can throw at it powerwise using the FS-DE

I've been using a welded lsd for several years with way more than 250hp on it... Everything else broke first :p

so im getting yes and no for the welded, yes for the mfactory, have heard of the welded actually holding up under 250+hp from someone i personally know, someone else stating theyve used it with no issues, hmm caught in the middle here....... who has links to the mfactory diff? who has other links to the welded diff?

I'll give you an easy answer.. they would both work but go with the mfactory. It wasn't an option when I did mine otherwise I would have gotten it.

no spaces obviously

ok, ok, its not cheaper, but if its definitely NOT going to blow up again then ill get that one, is there one that cheaper then $675?

you won't find a new one lower than that price range; and a used mfactory is just as good as a new one. You aren't going to break one of those. The average protege won't make enough power to break one. If you buy a used one, just make sure you buy new diff bolts/nuts and bearings for it and you will be as good as new
