hey guys, so i just realized my tranny leaking fluid by the axle insert area. my transmission seal keeps breaking. this is the second time already. does anyone know if there are any good aftermarket ones that'll last longer? has anyone have this problem with there transmission seals??

aftermarket ones are more of an issue actually. the OEM mazda ones have the extra lip, and help stay sealed better then others.

are you removing your axles constantly or something? usually you replace these once. and never have to think about them again.

Mazda ones are best. Make sure its installed straight, and when installing axle it helps if you lube the axle lightly where the seal contacts it. Use either white lithium grease or just regular high temp grease.

no, i actually had to put in a axle a few months back and i put in a new seal and now it just started leaking again. but thanks, ill prob have to go to mazda and get another one then.

how are you putting them in? what i did was put a cloth around it and hit it in with a soft hammer. that way it doesnt get torn or anything

^^ yea, i used a rubber mallet and tapped it in. theses seals are such a pain to take off after its broken. hopefully the new one will last.

I have this same problem and its killing me! I changed the drivers side cv axle put a brand new moog seal in (2 times) and it seemed to be fine after letting it sit and light drving around, but as soon as I drive far with it it starts leaking and it really does suck! Note: I used a seal driver kit to install

super duper bump. anyone got the part number for an oem axle seal? it's for the driver side if it makes a difference
