I have a 2003 msp that I shredded the transmission in. I am windering if there is a oem trans that is better or worse to get. Does a 626 trans fit in place. What or even if I have options.

Looks like I will be looking for a msp tranny then. I hope i can find one on the forums

They are relatively hard to find. Do you know what happened to yours? The LSD likely broke and you can swap it and be on the road for less than the cost of a used trans and you will still have limited slip!

I'm not quit for sure yet. I have read a ton about how the lsd is weak so I am just assuming and praying its clutch lol. Anyway when in gear and letting out the clutch it does not move and has a grinding sound.

I bet your LSD failed, not much more than replacing a clutch. You should probably put a new clutch in it when the diff is replaced.

I got the tranny tore out last night and found a little chunk of metal in the reverse cover. I have never broke apart a trans before and have called around and its more then I want to spend. Is this a hard task or just a common have some common mechianacal skills?

If you have the reverse cover off you are close to being able to split the case and have a look at the diff. It is definitely something you can do but I would recommend at least having someone help you that has done it before.
