Transmission Question

quick question

the AT light on my 04 mazda3's gauge just turned on. When the light is on, it doesnt shift to 4th gear and when i put it on autostick, the gear light number doesnt go on. Also when the AT light is on, when i stop, the car jerks a little. Doesn anyone know whats the deal with this.

there is an issue with it. its limiting its ranges to help protect itself. you need to scan it to see whats up. unfortunetly only manufacturer scaners will read the transmission codes on our cars. so bite the bullet and head to the dealership as soon as possiable to avoid any long term damage. it could be something simple like the range sensor, but it could also be a major issue, not really worth risking it.
