My first post here. Havent quite familiarized myself with this forum yet, so my apologies if this has been covered elsewhere.

The picture was taken on my phone, so its not the greatest... (2001 MP3). ....There's a square shaped rubber contraption off the side of the transmission housing (I'm assuming is the clutch boot). I'm leakin like a seive from there. As I'm not the best mechanic in the world, im looking for suggested steps to repair. Thanks.

This probably illustrates it better. The green circle is whats leaking. The "release" cylinder is connected to that big square rubber piece. Right where the rubber is mounted to the trans. is where its leaking. (not sure what its called). It's leaking badly, but I havent seen any change in brake fluid level.

i cant remeber the name of it either i belive its the fork that backs the preassure plate off the clutch i may be wrong. but either way to fix it or even find out what the problem is your going to have to pull the transmission. itl either be gear oil or motor oil. it may just be the seal. i just dont understand how exactly its leaking from that unless something is dripping down onto it

Well I took in to a shop today, rather than tryin to figure things out on my own. ...Turns out its the input shaft on the tranny leaking by. ....which explains why the fluid is showing up in that spot. Gonna pretty dam pricey. Thanks for the help.

rear main seal it is. and ya itl be pricey if you have a friend that knows what theyre doing have them do it. also if you have the money replace the clutch and everything too
