Transmission details

Last semester, in my design course, we had to model a reducer on paper/in spreadsheets and I was wondering if anyone knew what kinds of gears are in the transmission and their details (size, type, pitch, teeth, etc.).

It's kind of a for-funsies thing I'd like to do.

They'll all be helical cut except for reverse which is straight cut. Don't know much beyond that. Maybe ask AN7 as he's blown up a transmission or two.

Not sure if it's for class or not, but you could get more info for rear differentials being hypoid gear sets, Ford 9in being very high hypoid offset and a Toyota 9.5in having a very low hypoid offset.

Same offset diffs can allow you to run bigger gears in a smaller case(like D60 gears inside a D50 or D70 gears inside a D60) which a company called Jantz Engineering builds kits for to space bearings correctly to allow this.
