Trans and diff fluid change?

I was looking into changing my trans and diff fluid and noticed in the service manual that you drain the trans and diff from different locations and fill it from one location..... is that right?

And I was planning on using that ford stuff (Motorcraft xt-m5-qs) for both trans and diff. Opinions?

The trans and diff take a total of 2.6 quarts.... is that right?

No; the MS3 has a transaxle;the differential and transmission are contained in one housing. One fill plug, one drain plug- and you will need three quarts of XT-M5-QS.

+1. Three quarts. Shop around but it should cost just under $20 @ quart.
