Tranny Fluid

This past weekend I was doing some tranny work so I had to drain my transmission fluid. I drained it completly. I was all done with my work and then I need to refill it. I filled it using the check bolt hole. The shop manual said once the transmission is completly full oil will dribble out of the check hole. It the same practice as filling up a motorcycle transmission. The manual says- 2.9 US qts. I added 3 us qts. of GL-5 (while the car was level) and the oil did NOT dribble out.. Just making sure that everything will be ok. I don't want to add anymore because I don't want any foaming.

Thanks for the answers! :D

I had the same deal when I changed to Red-Line. Just use your finger as a dipstick and check the level. You should be fine.

When i filled mine 3 qts came right near the top but didnt over flow.
