TPMS programing questions

I bought a 2nd set of wheels to put winter tires on and also picked up a set of sensors. The manual has the procedure to program the new sensors but I have a few questions.

1. After driving the car for at least 10 minutes at a minumum of 16 MPH will the light go off automatically when they are programmed or will I have to shut the car off and then restart it?

2. Will the original set off wheels have to be reprogrammed again in the spring when I put them back on or will the onboard computer reconize them as previously being on the car?

Any other hints or tips on the programming would be appreciated.

Thanks , Markr

The light should go off if it was dont right, if not then just drive over to mazda, discount tire, ntb, and so on and they should be able to do it for free. "maybe not mazda you always pay something"

And yes you will have to reset the old ones when it comes time to put them back on.

You can always use one set of wheels and change out the tires but that cost money and can also increase the chances of screwing up your tires.

I would go the way you went, 2 sets of wheels and just set the tpms on the one i want to use.
