tough decision

I'm I been comparing the AEM ram air intake and other CIA's and I'm not sure which on to go with. I was just wondering if anyone had any opions on which to go with and which will give me the most horses

man i dunno about the hp but i have a cai and its awesome...you can do search and find out but i doubt you get much hp from either one, to the point where you even notice. maybe better accelaration and stuff...i dunno i just like my mhp cai.... no wait i love it... (wiggle)

from what i hear ... the short ram adds somewhere between 4-6 and the cal adds 8-12... also after you get the filter.. you can use a k&n filter ... that will help too...

i myself will be going with the injen cal... with k&n filter....

till i get a turbo that is.(omg)

Fact 1: Short Rams give quicker throttle response and better initial torque but lack top end power

Fact 2: Cold Air Intakes give better midrange torque and top end power HP, but don't feel as quick as the short ram.

Fact 3: You can expect anywhere from 4-6 whp from both. The difference is in the mid range, but unfortunately, you wont be able to tell unless you strap your car to a dyno.

My final thoughts, you'll probably want the Short Ram Intake from AEM. Since the MHP which came in Carbon Fiber isn't available anymore. I base these facts off of my experiences with both of my Civics and my first car the pimped out 93 Mercury Tracer LTS:) Also, from the many dyno sessions I've witnessed.

so your saying ... with a short ram... its better off the line... but cold air is better for the mid to higher speeds...

so short ram better for quarter mile?

and cold air is better for highway driveing?

I believe that one "*feels better" than the other. But I don't think either one will give you an awesome 1/4 mile time or 0-60 but from my experiences, the short ram always felt a little better off the line.

*feels better means how it feels on the butt dyno.
