totaled or not. what do you think?

in my honest opinion, with the damage to the rear as it is and the damage to the unibody, the chances are very high they will total it.
if, as mentioned, you do wish it totaled, then you really should do as mentioned, flatten both rear tires and unplug the fuel pump at the tank.
if it wont start, coupled with the damage, they will definitely total it out.

currently its sitting with 133xxx miles on it. as much as i would love to disconnect things and milk it for what its worth i dont want the risk of what could follow. who knows with the hurricane thats coming thru maybe a tree will on it while its sitting and waiting. still no one has looked at the car yet.

I don't think they will total it out. That looks to be roughly 2-2.5k worth of damage to me(I'm not a body guy). Then again it really depends on the damage they find once everything is ripped off. How is the roof up by the hatch hinges? If the Unibody is damaged i can see it being totaled out if high mileage.

the roof seems fine, tho the hatch is sitting 1" higher than the roof, and sitting 2" away from the body as well. not sure what this means to whats happened with the hinges/supports, the unibody is certainly dented in spots but i would say bent. it actually looks like the car has been hit once before because ive found where there is filler under the paint on the drivers side rear light. not sure if this is going to play into it also.

If there was already previous repairs i would definatly point that out to the adjuster. That might complicate the repair quite a bit... More $$$ I would think its 50/50 chance they will total it. It largly depends on your insurance company and blue book value VS repair cost...

when ive been rear ended like that, may car had similar damage and they totalled it. dont have pictures right now. but bumper was smashed, i think both back lights. Where the bumper attaches the quarter, it was out of place(rusted quarters didnt resist lol). somthing was bent behind bumper, dont know whats its called tho. hatch was like yours too.

i hoped they would totall it so i could get another car. they offered me 4000$ which is like 2 time what i could have sold it for. bought a nicer, faster car. rust and anoying rattles noises were KILLING me.

gl with that!

I hope that it is. I'm really itching to get an imprezra :).
No word yet from insurance company if the guy who hit me.

how about some worthwhile input here. what were the cost for repairing you car? how long did it take? how good was the repair?

it cost my 3,800 an it took a week. an it came out fukin awesome for a bad wreck... really the most damage that u got ur lucky cuz its on the hatch not ur body of the car..

That is probably totalled. My P5 was wrecked in the front and they totalled it over $3400 worth of damage and that was an extremely clean original car with 83k miles.

Judgement was send. And the car has been totaled. Now to fixure out if I buy it back and part it all out.

Glad you got what you wanted.

Don't know what I'd do. Take the extra $900 or go through the time, energy, and hassle to part out. Guess it depends on your situation. Pretty certain you'd make more than $900 in the long run if you parted it out. Some people enjoy that kind of thing...and plus parting it out would certainly help a lot of members on here :)

It should for the front half which is what I need I can cut it and combine it under the seats. The rear may or may not but I don't need that. It got a leak and its more or less ruined it :(

its not in the best of shape but its not that bad either, i never ran floor mats so it saw a lot of dirt

Mines has rips and stuff in it from where it got wet and feet rubbed it if its just dirty it can be cleaned just depends on if you part it out how much money I have and how much stuff I can get id be more than happy to take a trip to culpepper and save a good bit of money on stuff
