Tool Brand of Choice

So what is everyone favorite tool brand? Snap-on, Matco, Mac, Craftsman, Husky...Not just what would you WANT to have, but what do you own, what do you find the best value, quality, etc?

For me, craftsman makes great hand tools, at a great price, with a great warranty. As far as air tools go I stick with Ingersoll Rand. Top quality, but cheaper than snap-on. As far as tools boxes go, I feel snap-on pwns...but I dont have enough money for that so I have a craftsman ball-bearing(lol2)

true that...Although I learned my lesson about certain types of tools. Make sure if you are buying high abuse tools like air hammers or impact sockets, get the good stuff. I got a set of metric impact sockets at Harbor Freight(I think the brand was Pitsburgh) and my 19, 21, and 24 broke within a few weeks(lol2)

(werd) I just made a monthly trip to sears to get a bunch of stuff replaced. Im a mechanic so Im always using and abusing hand tools. I walked in with a cracked 12mm and 14mm 6 point deep well, a 3/8 drive ratchet, a 1/2" ratcheting wrench, and a 19mm impact socket, and walked back out with brand new s***(cept for the ratcheting wrench cuz they dont stock replacements for broken ones, had to order it).

Really, their warranty is more convenient than snap-on, or anyone else, cuz you can just go to sears and get a replacement, otherwise you have to send it out or wait for the tool man to come by(if u work at a shop)

Yeah, but Snap-on breaks a lot less than craftsman. That being said, all but a few of my tools are craftsman...

I usually go with craftsman just because the warranty is so easy, and they are of good quality. I have been suprised with the druability of the cheap-ass stanley s*** that wal-mart sells. Not top notch, but decent none the less.

exactly...Snap-On is THE top shelf for sure, but its freakin expensive. I dont mind making a trip to sears once in awhile for broken tools...its still cheaper than spending $145 for a 9pc set of tamper proof torx bits(one of the things our snap-on tool man showcased to the techs today at work)

Its kind of interesting, the lead tech at my shop hardly EVER uses his snap-on tools. His $400 impact gets used maybe once or twice a month, while his regular beat around gun is a 2 year old CH from Wal-Mart(go figure)....I mean, come on, a frikkin set of 4 3/8 extensions costs $90(shocked) from Snap-On.

Moslty craftsman here, but random assorted screwdrivers and a few snap on odds and ends. All power tools are dewalt.

I like Craftsman, except for their socket wrenches. Never liked 'em. Their torque wrenches on the other hand are VERY nice. I love Snap-On, but they're too pricey. I do have a nice Snap-On socket wrench set that I love. The rest of my tools are totaly random.(freebies 'n such)

I'm surprised to see so many people that work in shops. I also worked at a dealer. I got a lot of tools for working on peoples cars. Mostly cheap tools but they get the job done until they break and then they were free, suckers. I mostly use craftsman because it's so easy to replace and matco for my air tools, which was my buddy that trained me then became a matco dealer. So I get a good discount. I still have a 3" extension from snap-on that I have not been able to get replaced. Damned them!!! Oh well It was one of the free tools.

i have a set of husky sockets and they havent let me down yet. no sears are very close to me anywho.
