Took the plunge

My first post...

Hi everyone,

My wife and I just picked up our new P5 tonight, so I thought I should drop in and say hello to everyone. Just got back from a long drive around the streets of Boston. The car is a dream to drive.

We each had a Honda Civic from the mid 90's and decided to trade them both in on the P5. We both really loved our Hondas (never any real maintenance or problems at all) and would probably have stayed loyal, except we were both in love with the P5, and Honda doesn't make anything like it.

After one night with my new car, there is no looking back. Does that make me a convert? :-) Of course it's hard to let a car go when you have tons of memories with it, so I'm feeling kindof sad and nostalgic tonight about my Civic, but my P5 is really helping me along with the transition. Car&Driver was so right when they gave it a 10 in the "fun to drive" category. No more dreading road trips, bring 'em on! This car and I are going to be good friends.

Go Mazda, for making such an awesome car.

Anyway, thought I'd drop in here because they also gave us one black plastic key and one silver one. Of course my wife grabbed the cool one.

See y'all around.

Ben

rain

Oh yeah, and to commiserate about the rain- the dealer washed and waxed the car beautifully. Nary a speck of dust or watermark on it. So of course we drove it home in a thunderstorm. Guess I'll be washing it tomorrow...

Well I've decided that with 5 doors and a roof rack, these cars are a little harder to wash and dry than an MX-6. But it looks awesome when clean.

Here's a makeshift page of pictures. Dial-uppers beware.

Tyson,

Wheeeeeeeeeeeeew. That black is awesome!
Very good looking car! I've drove a Miata at Gossett two or so years ago... They were super nice, and actually knew what they were talking about. I was doing a report for my coorporate communications class on the new BMW M5 and X5, and was on my way to Courtesy BMW up there. I just stopped in for the hell of it at Gossett, and was presently surprised. Good people!

Damn, I like the shift nob better on your car than the one on mine! lol. The black is very good looking, I like that they left your front bumper alone, and didn't mount the front plate bracket like they did mine... :(

Oh well, you've got a great looking car! Congrats again! Has your wife tried to trade her Millenia with you yet? lol. (Hmm, that maroon and white sticker in the back window... it looks familar for some reason... lol)

Later,
Will

Thanks WIll...I was very impressed with Gossett the second time around. I wasn't the first time.

I may put a front plate on but I'm not sure yet. I like the clean looks of the car as is. I had a front plate on my MX-6 but that was because I bought the car used and the front bumper had a few scuffs on it and the plate hid them.

The wife likes driving the P5 but prefers an automatic these days.
