For no reason whatsoever...my wife and I decided to go check out the new Mini's. Great car, interior was really nice, stock radio sounded great. Saw the salesman that helped us get the MP3 and asked him if we could take out for a drive. He said they normally don't take out the Cooper S's out, to keep the milage down, but for us he'd make an exception. So he pulled out of the parking lot and parked on the curb and we switched seats. First thing I noticed was the DBW (drive by wire) throttle...kinda odd, when you compare it to ours. But I got used to it really fast...it was actually easier to control the throttle than in the MP3. I rolled ahead in 1st...and instantly slammed the gas...shift into 2nd and CHIRP!...something I've never been able to pull off in the MP3. I had to keep it below 4k after that cause the salesman asked me not to push it too hard (break in.) Handled really well too, due to the wide stance of the car. All in all...a great car, worth the money (if you can convince the dealer to ditch the markup (which was 6k in this instance.)) Maybe when I'm done with school I'll scoop one up...or maybe one of the other BMW's in the lot.
