To use or not use Oxygen sensors W/ Haltech F10X

I've been running my Haltech F10X (controls fuel only) for about three or so years now and the car has been great. I ran it with the primary and secondary O2 sensors for some time and when I burned through the primary O2 sensor wires when it ended up on the exhaust pipes I simply removed it. I also noticed a faster spool up since it removed some restriction out of my tiny DP. I didnt have any issues with tunning either. Car still ran fine but I am wondering whether its a good idea to put the primary back in as isn't the stock ES ECU (which is still controlling timing) I have in there still trying to manage timing via fuel? If no sensor is in there, is there a basic map that goes into play with specific timing or is it continuously lost on what to do since it's an OBDII? Also important to mention I have it setup so that the ECU resets everytime the car is turned off to work around the CEL for too rich which I think happens after 500 miles. This is obviously a question for the advanced tuners. I don't want to hear an UNEDUCATED advice/complaints about "you're doing it wrong" or anything like that.

you use the o2 sensor to run closed loop operation. the f10x would require the o2 sensor signal to run closed loop. right now you are in constant open loop where it controls fuel based off the MAP sensor.

Are there any potential drawbacks to running constant open loop in relation to the Stock ES ECU for timing?

Well, if the stock ECU is running the timing, you obviously couldn't adjust it in tandem with your fuel map. In closed loop operation, the Haltech would adjust the fuel based on your O2 sensor readings, and the timing wouldn't be accounted for. Come to think of it, for the Haltech, the only thing the closed loop operation adjusts is your fuel, no matter if it is the E6X or the F10X. Your fuel economy is the real victim.

My fuel economy is pretty good IMO. I get around 25 or more miles to the gallon and that's running it hard every so often.

Still undecided for which Haltech to run... :-(

Right now you're running boost on the MP3 PCM unless you swapped. Linux and I know the ignition advance on the MP3 PCM calibration is a little high for boost. E6X gets the job done. E8/ Platinum1000 are just more baller.
