Here is my dilema....I made a day trip to Mass. for a NEPOC meet to paint my headlights....well that went great and I love the end result. But about a month or so ago I bought some mintblue eyelids and haven't gotten around to painting them yet.

Now I am wondering if I should....will they accent my lights or take away from them? So I bring my question to my fellow forum members, for I know I will get honest and helpful insight! And if anyone has painted their headlights and have the mintblue eyelids, please post up some pics.... CrazeeD, are you putting yours back on?

If you think they will accent the lights, should I paint them red or black?

Here are some visuals

Personally, I think they just look stupid, and andything that affects the clarity of your headlights seems counterproductive to rationality....

I have a general rule about parts that are double-sided taped to my car. Oh, and I don't buy parts that don't improve performance or driver-car interaction.

id do it. personally i wouldve gotten the other style, but those look good too.
go for it man

I've got black head lights with carbon eye lids, and from more than 10' or darker conditions, I can't really tell they're on. I've got HID's, so they do not detract from light output. I don't have photoshop, but if you do you might be able to fiddle with these pics and see what they might look like on your car.

I say red, they will look much better. From the pics you got, it dont look like they sit flush with the lights though. Are they not the right fit?

I had them on and thought they looked great, but when I mounted up my black housing Canadians ... they just cluttered up the flow of the front and simply didn't look right imo ...

Canecreekfreak and Bala de Plata - Thanks for the pics, my initial thoughts are that they will clutter up the front also....but I don't have those shiny, clear, pit free lenses!! lol

Huascar82 - Yeah they are the right fit, I just squeezed them on quick to take some pics....no double sided tape yet to hold them flush.

Well I would paint them red and put them on. Even if it was only a week or so just to get a feel for them and see If I really wanted them on there. Without them being fitted on there, I really can't give you a clear answer. HY8us's P5 looks great with them on, but his lights aren't blacked out. Good luck with your decision.

do it, even on a early third gen they are sexy as hell.. see....

haha, from me :) you don't want to know... about $800CAD plus shipping (peep)

as for the topic in question, i personally say do it, but i have a mid blue with the hood deflector, and my theme is blue and black, so it all works. now that i've had the eyelids on the headlights for so long, the front end looks incomplete without them...

i even put them on my brand new headlights :D

Darn, I thought maybe there was a shipment of CAD headlights that fell off a truck and were going for $20. Oh well. :)

sorry to thread jack but how do eyelids install and where can i get some? i say go for it.

No prob....they install with double sided tape and you MIGHT be able to get a pair from me depending on my decision. I know DG Motorsports and Crazycaker sell them and ProtegeGarage might also.

Like tengoestetempo said, you can do them yourself and it is pretty easy and cheap (unless you drive to Mass. like I did!). I didn't mind the extra expense as I had a great time meeting new people and let's not forget the Road Trip!

You just have to make sure to watch for those tabs on the headlights.

Looking good Andrea....the VHT on the eyelids is a neat idea....not to mention those pit free lenses!

Still up in the air as to what I am gonna do, but thanks for all your votes....keep 'em coming.....
