To anyone with CAI on otherwise stock 2.3

Hey guys, what was the sound difference when running the cai without an exhaust? It's my wife's car and I am slowly doing things to it, but I don't know if she'll let me go so far as to put exhaust on it, plus it is an auto. Any change noted in fuel efficiency? How was the install, I have done all the mods to my MSP so I can't imagine it would be too tricky? Any info on what will make it smoother if there are any rough edges during installation would be great. Thanks ahead of time.

A cai will be loud only when you step on the gas hard otherwise it isn't bad. Install is easy, but you will need to remove the resonator which is a bit harder because you have to get under the car or take off the tire. There should not be a big change in milage

Thanks man, Its hard to say with umnitza, it has been dynoed at 8hp, but it is definately laggy when hot out. Good luck with the f2 those are supposed to be sice.

it's easy to find out what an intake will sound like while not having an exhaust. Remove the intake resonator: http://www.msprotege.com/forum/showthread.php?t=60565

It sounds a little deeper than an AEM intake actually. have fun.
