To all who have AEM SRI

Is the AEM SRI supposed to sit that low in the engine, near the asphalt? I see pics of it on Proteges and it looks more like a CAI than an E-bay SRI. it makes a 90 angle straight to the ground after the MAF and junk.

There are 2 versions. The SRI for the automatic tranny is like the E-bay intakes, - the one for the MT actually dips down lower.

I haven't seen the one for the AT, but I'm guessing it takes that dip so it can suck in cooler air. AEM doesn't technically make a CAI for our cars so I assume this is the best they could do. Although I haven't heard many complaints on them.

i have the aem sri for my pro and its like the e-bay ones. it doesnt make the 90 degree angle towards the ground cause i have an auto tranny. i did order the manual tranny one by mistake the first time around and it does make the turn towards the ground.
