I just wanted to know which tires are recommended for 02 Pros? and also does having wider tires make a big difference as for ride and handling, I know 195/50R16 is the standard size but if wider is better what size would that be?
From the posts i've read people are saying all kinds are tires are good but ya I wanna know which is the best to get, defenitly need a set that can handle rain and snow. I live in canada hahaha
Thanks

You could get a little wider tire and fit it on the rims you have. I think a 205/50/16 would fit on stock ES rims.

If you want an affordable all summer tire that has good grip buy the Hankook Ventus K104, Kumho Ecsta SPT. If you want an affordable good all season performance tire get the Kumho Ecsta ASX, Yokahama Avid V4S, Hankook Ventus V4ES H105. They are all very good in price and performance.

Thats awesome info but since I'm in canada summer tires would only be useful for maybe a month ahaha..i would have to go more towards an all season so I'll check out the ones u suggested
Thanks

if your wanna go bigger you could put 215/45R18 and I have seen some as big as 225/35R19

I'm pretty sure he was refering to his stock rims...

I really like Sumitomo HTR+ all season ultra high performance tires. Great grip on dry surface and good handliing in rain and snow. I had them on my stock wheels for a while until i got the summer wheels. Good price on them too!

I had the stock 195/55/15 potenzas which were pretty good, except in snow. But any performance all-season usually sucks in snow. Now I just have some Yoko Avid T4s for the stock wheels and use Nitto NeoGens for my 16s.

I run Kumho Ecsta ASX in the stock size. I've used Ecsta 712s in the past, and I like the ASX just as much for my driving style. The chief benefit is that the ASXs are quieter.

ya i went to a tire place to check out prices and the sales dude said lots of people go for the kumho's for mazdas but they recommend toyos

The toyos aren't bad, close to the Potenzas in handling. At tirerack.com they were $30 cheaper per tire though, and that clinched the deal for me.
